Tottenham Confirm Harry Kane Blow

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that striker Harry Kane has suffered from a crucial ligament injury on his left ankle.

The England captain suffered the injury in Tottenham's 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions league quarterfinal game.

The 25-year old slipped as he tried to block a clearance by Manchester City's left back, Fabian Delph in the second half and was immediately substituted.

Kane has scored 24 goals for Spurs this season and has already missed 21 games since the start of the 2016/2017 season through ankle injuries.

Kane who has scored 22 goals for England in 34 appearances and may miss England's semifinal game in the Euro Nations League against Netherlands on June 6 and possibly the final three days later should England win against either Portugal or Switzerland.

The club has now confirmed that the injury may rule the striker out for the remainder of the season as they look to keep up the fight for the top four spot.

From the same match, Dele Alli who was also substituted has been confirmed to have fractured his left hand.

A club statement also said the England midfielder would be assessed before their home game against Huddersfield at the weekend.

Spurs are currently in fourth position, two points below Chelsea in third position who have played a game more and one point above North London rivals, Arsenal with just six games of the season left.

They face Manchester City in the reverse fixture of their Champions League quarterfinal clash on Wednesday, 17th April with a slender 1-0 lead.
