The deal which was signed off by Manuel Pellegrini after identifying the midfielder as one to bring value to the club will see Wilshere sign a three-year deal.

Wilshere announced in late June of his imminent departure from Arsenal after it became glaring he would not feature in the plans of new coach, Unai Emery.

The 26-year old, already capped 34 times by England has seen limited playing time in recent years due to recurring injuries and setbacks.

He has enjoyed loan spells at Bolton Wanderers where he made a mark to break into the Arsenal team and was loaned out to Bournemouth a couple of seasons back.
