Argentinian Superclasico may set to reach international scale in 2018 as Boca Juniors and River Plate made their way to reach the Copa Libertadores final stage, everyone’s waiting for a Disciplinary Union decision.

Boca Juniors got themselves clearly into the final after beating Palmeiras in semifinals (2:2 and 2:0) while the River Plate 2:1 win over Gremio became a real drama. Argentine side scored their winning goal under dubious circumstances on the 96 minute – 14 minutes after the referee made a decision assisted by VAR. Gremio supporters were extremely displeased with the decision and when Gonzalo Martinez finally netted a winner from the spot, the game was halted and the referee was convoyed off the stadium by military police as things got seriously heated.

Gremio appealed for the legitimacy of match result and Disciplinary Union is set to decide on the issue of rematch. But everyone’s, except Gremio of course, is looking for the Argentinian historical super final.
