Two cities with footballing history: Manchester & Liverpool
It's already Day 3 out for 6; the halfway point of Sam's University trip and today he found himself in footballing hell and heaven. Sam is a massive football fan and supports Liverpool FC. The University had planned a trip to visit Old Trafford for a stadium tour. Old Trafford is the home of Manchester United, one of Liverpool's bitter rival. There is so much history between these two clubs. Obviously, during the tour Sam had a lot of banter (jokes) aimed towards him as the tour guide found out he was a Liverpool supporter. Although, he was in the "Theater of Nightmares", he enjoyed it as anything to do with football is right up his alley.
Everything was made up for after lunch at the Hotel Football next to Old Trafford as the Uni trip continued onto Liverpool and he got the chance to visit Anfield and buy some merch (beany and scarf...yes it's getting chilly). He has been a Liverpool supporter since 2001 and lived in England from late 2009 to late 2016, but he never got the chance to visit his beloved team's stadium until now. It was such a relief for him to clean his sins from visiting Old Trafford by visiting Anfield. He just needs to see a match at Anfield and he would be satisfied to the max!
