10 matches, 27 goals scored, and 7 cleansheets recorded. That's the summary of the game week 1 of the English premier league. There were wins for 7 teams and 3 ended in a draw. There are lot of talking points from the first set of matches played.

Talking points

Manchester City are not slowing down

Manchester City are at their devastating best once again. They scored 5 against Westham while playing away. That's something. They didn't allow Leroy Sane long term injury to affect their performance. Many thought they will have a hard time against Westham considering their domestic treble last season. That's not the case here as the Guardiola led team brushed aside Pellegrini led Westham in a resounding victory. The talk of the league was Liverpool 4-1 win against new comers Norwich. Manchester City gave media another headline and that was a dominant victory against Westham in their first match of the season.

Arsenal now have quality depth.

Playing Newcastle away in your first match of the season, you know you just have to get things right. They are a defensive side who love to catch the opponent on counter attacks. Unai Emery left some potential first team players on the bench due to fitness issue and the surprising thing is Arsenal won. Arsenal won 1-0 away. They equalled their away cleansheet record last season. It's a great feeling for most Arsenal fans as they are seeing a new Arsenal.

The good news is the quality of the bench. Tierney, Kolasinac, David Luiz, Holding, Ozil, Pepe, Torreira, Lacazette, Ceballos, Martinelli, Mustafi, and El Neny did not start or play in that match. These are players that are first team worthy and would change a game when called upon any day. Winning an away match plus having a cleansheet without the the aforementioned players starting shows that Arsenal is fast growing into a real challenger. The club now have quality backups and will look to challenge for the title.

Chelsea won't get anywhere with youths.

I made a post regarding Lampard led Chelsea team before. The club is hoping on luck presently. The sale of Hazard and Luiz when you know you have no real leader in the team is a bad decision. Frank Lampard believes in the youth and hope to win something or achieve a respectable position with them. I don't think that is going to be the case judging from what I saw against Manchester united. How many top matches have Tammy Abraham, Mount or Zouma played? That's a question that needs an answer. They were torn apart by the more experienced Manchester united side. You can't compare Rashford experience to that of Abraham, Zouma, or Christensen. David Luiz absence was felt in the match against Manchester united. He would have coordinated the backline better than Azpilicueta who was silent for most part of the game.

They are youngsters who need some mentoring, someone more experienced to lead them through the premier league matches. Frank Lampard will hope Azpilicueta can step up and assume the leadership role or maybe Willian. They need more than just youths, they need the leadership spirit.

I really love the way you summarize the whole thing and i think Chelsea were just unlucky to play Man United in the week 1, if not they too will join the likes of Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham on the winning list.
