Foraging For More Berries in Alaska
Lets go picking! We went back to the place where the bear spooked us off the patch, VERY Gald we went back!
My hubby @alaskatactical is holding the total haul! He even carried it out for us. 😍
So we where finally able to go back to our spot, no way I was going back here with a freaking bear loose. Even with a gun! But it was well worth the wait!
When we pulled up to our spot we seen a ton of elder berries, we plan on making cold meds with it. I hope to do a post on it.
@alaskatactical cutting the berry bunches loose
After getting a gallon baggy full we headed in on the trail. Again super top secret location 🤫
I seen some new stuff along the way, I kept stopping along the way and getting eye rolls.
shroom next to trailing raspberry, we found so many trailing rasberries this trip. We tried them but they are not ripe at all.
Another shroom hiding in the ferns
this was just behind a patch of raspberries
cool looking shrooms
We found a lot of watermelon berries on this trip
Look at this beautiful eye candy @alaskatactical found💗
Still walking to our spot.
It had rained for three days, so there where puddles everywhere.
WE MADE IT!!!
For as far as the eye could see is nothing but blue berry bushes
Look how big these are! Normally they are about pea sized, these are double if not triple that!
We picked for two and a half hours, check our haul! 😍
Beautifully blue fingers 💗
We dumped all the berries into one bucket.
Then it’s time to head down.
I started to harvest elder berries on the way down, no sense in coming back with an empty bucket.
This one reminds me of the mushrooms off of Fantashia.
Such a beautiful over grown trail, one of my favorite views. Just one though bacuse this place is beautiful!
This is the last picture before we got to the car, I was happy to see some new things.
We left some berries for the animals, so don’t you worry. There was a lot of berries scattered through out the trail too. We ate watermelon berries again and spread more seeds. We had some that actually tasted like watermelon! 😱 I was always told they where called watermelon berries because they have a ton of seeds. 🤷♀️
Raspberries are currently my favorite. I make jellies out of them primarily. Congrats by the way for being one of the four for https://steemit.com/ghsc/@ghscollective/giving-it-away-or-update
Raspberries are very yummy!
Oh I had NO idea, thanks for telling me!
I love that picture of all your hands. Very sweet. Those mushrooms do look like something from a fairy tale.
Thanks, I love it too!
The mushrooms were so cool!
You have hit Berry Heaven!
So many to choose from, that's got to be one to mark on the map.
The red Shroom looks like a Fly-Algaric to me....
Nice Blueberries too.
What IS very curious is that I have never seen RED Elderberries before. In U.K. we only have the BLACK Elderberries and they're a great immune system booster (especially for flu).
Good Job folks.
It was an amazing spot!
Someone found the mother load in McGrath! Was even in their local news!
I mean come on! Look at that!
On the note of RED elderberry, check this link.

We will be straining the seeds and skin.
Wooow - (Closely guarded SECRET)! nice.
For real! Like secret blood oath society! 😂
Nice berries, going to make some jam? Really good harvest for wildcrafting. You should consider planting some tame ones, but not too close to the house.

Do you remember the post about the blue berries that tasted like fish...🤢
Well I spread them all over my back yard. In the ferns, in bare spots, and in the marshy areas. I hope they take. If not I am going to have fat shrews running around and happy cats.
Sadly I didn't see that one, I will try to find it. Hope the berries work for you! I have never seen a shrew, you will have to add a picture!
:)

Thanks, loved the fish berry post! They should grow just fine!
:)
Thanks! I thought they were more like our moles, but this is more a long nosed mouse. Interesting! I can see why your cats would enjoy them.
:D
Hear-say says that the shrew is related to the elephant. But that’s just hear-say
There is a little size difference, LOL! But I don't this I would worry much about a stampede of shrews. It would also be inappropriate to shoot one with an Elephant gun....
:)
Yeah just a smidgen bit of over kill
