According to the document, the community is "in immediate or imminent danger" that can affect the safety, health and well-being of people.

"We want to reduce and eliminate the illegal opioid drugs that are spreading in our community," said Leo Metatawabin, Chief of the Fort Albany First Nation.

We want to ensure the safety, mental health and well-being of community members. Leo Metatawabin, Chief of the Fort Albany First Nation

The leader of the First Nation hopes to get help from the federal and provincial governments to address the opioid crisis in the community, including the establishment of a treatment center and a drug enforcement team to stop the drug does not circulate in the community.
