The Guardian's Manafort-Assange Fake News Story Has a 3rd 'Hidden' Author, Trio Have Fabricated Stories Before

in #freeassange5 years ago (edited)

Contrary to what was published online, there are more authors than just the plagiarist and hack job Luke Harding and his co-author Dan Collyns. In the direct digital archive library for The Guardian, it shows a third hidden author by the name of Fernando Villavicencio.

Why did the online version omit this author? Is something to hide? There is.

It's not the first time his name was part of a story published by The Guardian and then removed. In February of 2014, The Guardian published a false allegation that Ecuador had been "negotiating a secret $1bn deal with a Chinese bank to drill for oil under the Yasuni national park in the Amazon while pursuing a high-profile scheme to keep the oil under the ground in return for international donations".

This information hinged on a document provided by none other than Fernando Villavicencio. The government of Ecuador denied the "Yasuni" area was up for drilling oil. The document was falsified and used to create fabricated story, i.e. fake news, that The Guardian published. Villavicencio is a convicted slanderer, having tried to falsely accuse former president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, of crimes. He also supported the 2010 coup to overthrow Correa. Rather than face an 18-month prison sentence, he fled to America.

Fast forward to last week, and he is apparently the source of the false claims that Assange met with Manafort in secret. It's not the first time he went after Assange either. In 2015, "he published questionable and unverified documents about Assange and the security system at the Ecuador Embassy in London".

It seems like he tried to jeopardize Assange's security within the Ecuadorian embassy. Correa is also the president that likes Assange and granted him asylum. Villavicencio has targeted both Assange and Correa. Is he a U.S.-CIA stooge or willing asset?

The attempted coup on Correa was supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) through funding of groups involved. NED is funded by the U.S. and is used by the CIA as a force for political change in Latin America. NED funds the news outlet Fundamedios co-founded by Cesar Ricaurte, who has close ties to Villavicencio.

Julian Asssange spoke about Fundamedios in 2015:

“I have researched the issue and discovered that the director of ‘Fundamedios’ has previously denounced my work and that of WikiLeaks.”

“Fundamedios specializes in savaging the Ecuadorian government’s attempts at breaking up Ecuadorian media ologopolies. Most of these ologopolies have traditionally been close to the U.S. government and have engaged in frequent acts of journalistic corruption…’Fundamedios,’ which is also funded by these same ologopolies simply has little credibility.”

The recent story by The Guardian now reveals three story-tellers -- Luke Harding, Dan Collyns and Fernando Villavicencio -- who worked together to try to take on Assange again. Here they all are pictures together in Ecuador 10 days before The Guardians fake news story hit the wires.

Harding and Collyns also fabricated a story this past September, against citing "anonymous sources" involving Russia which was used by the DNC to file a lawsuit claiming a conspiracy involving WikiLeaks for exposing the DNC corruption in 2016.

Why did The Guardian let this fabricated fake news story go out, when the layers of checks with something so accusatory and sensitive as the claims against Assange? Rather than cut the uncorroborated claims, or stop the story, a speedy green light was given.

Former Guardian journalist Jonathan Cook suggests the story had "insurance" from "security and intelligence agencies - presumably of Britain, the United States and/or Ecuador." This could explain why such a flagrantly false story was pushed through without the usual editorial checks. It is serving a larger agenda of the intelligence agencies and deep state.
