Laying down on the job

in #freedom6 years ago

Today is July the 4th which, means absolutely nothing to me however, I just read this post by @steemitblog saying that it was July the 4th 2016 that the Steem blockchain started distributing Steem to content creators, which is great. The other thing they bring up is calling Steem the Blockchain of opportunity because it turns everyone that uses it into an entrepreneur. This is something that I have been trying to impress on people for quite a while yet for the most part, people are laying down on the job.

Today I had a client meeting with a bigger boss and we were talking about responsibility, proactivity and autonomy of workers and how even though people want independence, when it comes down to doing the tasks that are required but they don't enjoy, they will shirk responsibility, wait to be called upon and do their level best to not have to do it themselves.

This is my own experience as a small entrepreneur also meaning that there are a lot of things to be done but, no one wants to do them. Unfortunately in my case, there is only me available so, the responsibility falls squarely on my shoulders each day whether I want to do the menial tasks or not.

I think this is the same for anyone who wants independence, anarchy and the like as to become truly independent is to become an entrepreneur, a person who must do all tasks required to survive. As soon as the outsourcing starts to happen, pretty soon, there are middlemen and governments that arise once again. I am not saying that cooperation isn't possible but, care needs to be taken to ensure that it doesn't end up creating the same spiralling problems we currently face.

In the case of Americans and their independence, I find it ironic that they continually talk about the land of the free and freedom yet, spend insane amounts of time and money arguing and debating which party is going to enslave them for the next 4 years. What people routinely fail to realise is that as far as independence goes, it doesn't matter who is president as it is the system itself that is the dictator.

In the case of Steem users who are all entrepreneurs here whether they recognise it or not, it is not really good enough to stay out of learning about the system because to stay on the outskirts of understanding means to outsource all decision making to others and not even be able to recognise the decisions that have been made and the effects they have. This is a large part of the problem with governments too, us.

It is we who choose them and rather than build governments that work as infrastructure development and maintenance, w we create celebrities and superstar politicians and then incentivize them by rewarding them highly if they win for our group.

It is a system that can only lead to oppression and systematic and institutionalised violence. And, due to our unwillingness to actually do the work to understand for ourselves, we buy the advertising propaganda and make our decisions with our emotional stances on topics and positions irrelevant to what a government should be handling.

People like to complain about governments but the other thing they fail to realize is that the government is them too. I don't mean it is just representative, I mean that the people that make up that system are humans who had similar childhoods, went to similar schools, played similar sports and likely believed in similar fantasies which makes them, similar to everyone else. What this means is that put in their position, the chances of any one person acting similarly to them is very high indeed.

It is not a great feeling to see what we despise reflected back in the mirror so instead, we compartmentalize our view and only look at the pretty parts of who we want to support and the ugly parts of who we don't. That way, we can feel that we are always in the right and, if what we support becomes ugly, we shirk the responsibility of our choices and lay blame on the very system that we ourselves have built.

When we look at the world and blame society, community, government, religion, rich, poor, immigrants, criminals, refugees, beggars, priests or politicians what we fail to acknowledge is that in slightly changed circumstances, we can hold any of those titles, we are them, just not at this point in time. The entire concept of independence hinges on this. It is the idea that we get to choose our position for ourselves.

It is just a shame that so many outsource their decisions to authorities. The reason is that once an authority, the drive to remain an authority kicks in and then, systems of authoritarian protection take place which means, suppress any threat, quell any divergence.

You are more than a monetary entrepreneur on this blockchain, you are promoter of freedom and independence so that others have the possibility to take back some agency and rethink just who they want to be. Most given the opportunity of responsibility won't take it as there is too much work involved, too much that needs to be considered, too much effort but perhaps one day, things will change and enough will cooperate together, independently.

Happy independence day but, we are all slaves to something. Including the code. Some things can be changed though.

The sheeple of the world will read your post and think you are bat shit crazy. Seriously they think getting a "good job" so they can afford to buy a bigger house and nicer car then their neighbor is freedom. They think that they "must have" the latest 5G TV in every room of the house so they don't miss a minute of their stupid staged reality TV show or talk show. They have to buy this years designer clothes and so forth. Then one day they wake up and wonder how after years of having this good job they are flat broke.

They are slaves to a system that is designed to trap you in debt and pay the banks interest on money they created from thin air.

The process of thinking for yourself is nearly extinct and those of us that do are made fun of and given a hard time for not falling into the same traps that others do.

Most given the opportunity of responsibility won't take it as there is too much work involved, too much that needs to be considered, too much effort but perhaps one day, things will change and enough will cooperate together, independently.

This right here is why people need to show up to their shitty job they hate for nearly their entire life. They trade their souls to the man in exchange for the right to purchase a ton of crap that they don't need but were conditioned into thinking they "must have".

The sheeple of the world will read your post and think you are bat shit crazy.

Most do.

They are slaves to a system that is designed to trap you in debt and pay the banks interest on money they created from thin air.

I was explaining to someone yesterday how banks create money (at a basic level) and they had never even come close to it before It was like a brand new world.

I wonder if most people were asked if they wanted to choose their career again, would they?

If I could keep the knowledge that I have now or even half of it I would. There are no do-overs. If not then no.

I was in finance and couldn't do it. The world is so cut throat and back stabbing that it made me sick. To give you an idea I was the Financial Controller for a company and took them public (no cfo so I was actiing CFO also), I've done private stock offerings of around 15 million, I've merged publicly traded companies, and I've been a signer on an account with $50 million in the account...could have skipped town a very rich man in my early 20's...lol.

After this I was on the personal investment side. My issue was anything I suggested someone to purchase there just isn't a logical reason to buy except that people are banking on new highs being achieved. Fundamentals have gone out the window and we are heading towards another financial global crash.

Honestly I feel that they let Trump win so the crash that was coming would be pinned on him. They never expected him to due what he has already done which if you remove his childish antics is pretty amazing. Just maybe he heads off the crash in the US, but pretty sure the rest of the world is in deep shit. If they go forward with trying to go tit for tat with the US on tariffs they will figure out real quick that they don't import nearly the amount that they export and without the mighty US consumers most Countries are broke in a matter of months.

Don't think most people realize how much other economies rely on the US consumers. Without US consumers reckless spending habits and the insanely crazy loose banking rules here that allow personal debt levels that are unsustainable and then followed by simple personal bankruptcy laws that let people more or less walk away with just messed up credit (and they cry about that) a ton of other Countries can't support themselves.

So without the banks ability to just say here is a loan, literally creating money on the spot, the world economy goes straight to shit. It is nothing but a house of cards built on overspending on personal and every level of government. At some point the music must stop and I don't think most are even slightly prepared for what comes next.

Hi Taraz. two years today Steem has been distributing it's coins. That is not a long time in the big picture of things. I think the platform has done remarkably well to get this far in such a short time. You mentioned that Steem was at around 0.07 c and now it is at $1.60 or so. that is a growth of 2300%. That if one works it out is basically doubling in value each month of Steemit. When one stands back and digests these figures they are mind boggling.

Indeed, I read that it has distributed 50 million dollars worth of Steem through payouts which is incredible in itself.

That is another impressive number. We all need to target a higher percentage of the reward pool with numbers like that.

It is just a shame that so many outsource their decisions to authorities

There it is.
I don't care what society you name that has an or had an oppressive government it all goes back to the people who failed to take responsibility for their lives and pass it to the government. A little here and there adds up quickly.

it's never too late to make a change if the will is there to take personnel responsibility.

A little here and there adds up quickly.

The way of all things. Small steps to freedom or tyranny.

The 4th means it's time to blow shit up!! Lets dooo thiss...

@tarazkp, I love to be in this social media, I will keep improving writing content, I will increase steem power, :)

Everyone will face obstacles, including those who are already successful at this time. The difference is, successful people are able to overcome those obstacles.

Thank you master :) regards from me in Indonesia :)

July 4th means absolutely nothing to me too...😂 .

You're right about the steem platform being one for entrepreneurs. Everyone controls their destiny here, I hope we can build a better system with this gift of a platform

You inspire me. You are cirrect dear sir. Thanks for the motivation. Balance and self sufficiency should be our goal...hard sometimes but worth it. I hard to start small.

it is one of those deep seeded flaws in capitalism that we've all been ingrained with.

Whilst crypto is supposed to promote a decentralised economy and new ways of working, new world order, people are all approaching it with a capitalist mindset.

capitalism fails in a few areas.

  • every dollar earnt is a dollar lost by somebody else.
  • some tasks which may be essential to a society, but not to any one individual, will be neglected because it won't be seen as profitable.

In a way that's what's happening here. Posting good content is essential for a platform like steem, but it is only rewarded by people that perceive that content worthy of reward, and they need to even see it before they can do that - when that doesn't happen, then the content production slows down.. and that is where a platform can fail completely..

still waiting for some of the enhancements to the platform that can boost content visibility and in turn content rewards, which will lead to greater content quantity (and quality)

I agree with you Taraz, we usually blame other more than ourselves if there is anything goes wrong. I think that reflecting to our own self is better than to blame others. Always blaming others cause us to be blinded to our own mistake which might cause a lot of pain to other wheter we realize it or not. Then the regret part came and it's already too late to turn back.
