Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction. If you think the things your hear everyday corresponds to the reality of te world, you are dead wrong. You might think that Apple Inc. is actually struggling to capture the market share of the android to gain profits. The truth is that Apple Inc. actually has a claim on 92% of all smartphone profits o the planet. Apple Inc. may be selling less devices, but they have great profit margins and you might be thinking that Android would at least be making more money off of the Google Play store. But that's not true either. Almost all of the app store revenue is spread between Play Store and iTunes stores. There are over 5 Android phones for each iPhone. So how much do you think each of those Android phones generate per each dollar of revenue that an iPhone generate? The answer is less than 12 cents. Not only Apple Inc. claim 92% of hardware profits, they also claim 605 of App Store revenue despite the low sales. Apple Inc. knows where to put their focus on. Apple is a great example on how illusory human perceptions and assumptions can be.

Public Has No Clue On What is Deadly

A picture may worth a thousand words but this GIF should worth ten thousand. The data is from USSA and things might be different in different countries. But many countries even actively try to imitate the so called "Land of the Free". Ask yourself what is being portrayed when you spend some time engaging in your social interactions. If you take a look at social media (especially Twatter and Fakebook) you'll realize that New York Times is actually doing a magnificent job. Biggest concerns tend to surround things like gun control, terrorism, immigration and millions of micro-aggressions (AKA "not really"-aggressions)

At least suicide and cancer is getting some decent attention in the media. Suicide is also getting some attention on social media. But what about heart disease? Heart disease is the public enemy #1 for those who are living in USSA and many other developed nations (with some exception - mostly from Asia)

Heart disease and Cancer are the cause for most deaths. What are the causes behind them?

This is a complex topic. But there are things that everybody recommend to prevent these partially self-inflicted diseases. Everybody advise against smoking and alcohol consumption. The more you party, more likely you are to die. that's the brutal truth. People love to post it when they hit the club or get drunk with friends. Lots of people think smoking is cool. Social media and even mainstream media is promoting these things as good. It is no wonder that most deaths are not caused by criminals or even terrorists. Most deaths are at least influenced by individual irresponsibility. But how many times have you looked at a party and thought of it as a health risk?

Prevention Is Better Than Cure

Amount of deaths caused by mass shooters and domestic terrorists and criminals combined is negligible compared to the amount of deaths caused by cars. But how many people are talking about vehicle accidents or responsible driving? People don't even take drunk driving seriously enough these days. The reasons are obvious. it clash with the parting and hanging out mindset. With this many deaths caused by vehicles who do you think leads he world when it comes to self driving technology. It's not Tesla.

wealth is meaningless if you would die soon. Wealth is also meaningless if you had to live a life of greatly diminished health. People are depressed, they are offended and disturbed and psychological health is always going to negatively affect physical health. My question is what can you really do with an ailing body? What would happen if your wealth had to be simply spent on your health. Isn't that a tragic zero-sum game? Isn't that what is happening around?

Nobody would consider obesity as a real disease. It is not infectious and with the exception of some cases of genetic defects, people have to try really hard to get obese. Let's hear some facts from Wikipedia.

Excessive body weight is associated with various diseases and conditions, particularly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus type 2, obstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, osteoarthritis, and asthma. As a result, obesity has been found to reduce life expectancy.

Today's media and perceptions are stacks against speaking and advocating against smoking, STDs (I've seen social media movements spreading the message that Having STDs As No Worse Than Common Cold) and nobody wants to spend some time figuring out a proper diet and getting rid of alcoholism. When it comes to obesity........ well that's just straight up hate speech.
