Atlas.Work - The World's 1st Decentralised Platform for Freelancing

in #freelance6 years ago (edited)

Atlas Project

With the advent of AI and automation, many jobs will be lost in future. Some economists anticipate a wave of job loss affecting around 47% of the existing jobs in the US.. As per study conducted by McKinsey & Co., this figure is estimated to reach 800 million by 2030.

Further, to maintain financial efficiency and improve operating profits, in future, many companies will replace their Full Time jobs with Freelancing jobs, which will help them in following less labour' compliance requirements and save costs associated with employees' insurance (healthcare and medicare), retiral benefits and social security.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) has predicted that the future could be dominated by freelancing, or a concept known as the "gig economy". The gig economy is estimated to be worth about $ 1.3 trillion by 2025 as per research report published by McKinsey Global institute. It is projected even high quality jobs like 'consulting' and 'internet research' will move towards freelancing.

Freelance Jobs Existing Over Time

CHALLENGES

There are current challenges facing the freelancer industry such as: -

High fees (upto 20% of total service price) charged by market leaders - Online platforms such as 'Freelancer.com', 'Upwork'
Conformance to federal labour laws or the labour laws of the respective countries they operate from

These challenges can be solved by using a freelancing platform operating in a decentralized environment and adopting blockchain technology. By making basic profile details of freelancers public, a decentralized platform can bring freelancer markets closer to people while increasing the trust factor in the ecosystem.

But Do We Have Such An Existing Ecosystem? The answer is 'Yes' and the platform name is Atlas. The entity behind the creation of the Atlas blockchain, the Atlas utility coin (WORK) and the concept is "Atlas.Work".

ATLAS ECOSYSTEM

The Atlas ecosystem is a decentralized platform that supports the Fourth Industrial Revolution while enabling the future of work i.e. 'freelancing', 'employment based decentralized applications', and 'smart contracts which bring the client and freelancer on a common platform without involving fraud and any 3rd party interference'.
