I Bet You Will Get Up To Speed Quicker Than Spinning Your Tires - Blockchain Coffee “Screeching Tires”
Maintaining traction when driving is something many do not seem to understand. I see so many people spinning their tires trying to get moving in the rain and last night was a good example being the first rain in awhile.
If you realize how momentum and friction work together then it’s pretty simple to keep in control of your vehicle. The rolling circumference of a tire has more friction to the ground then a stationary one as the surface contact is that much larger. Yet the trick is not to break free to maintain the rolling momentum which works with rolling friction of a tire.... think of it this way....
Have you ever tried to break the tires free when all ready moving forward? Why do people always start from a standstill or even a slight backwards roll? It’s all due to the rolling traction and the smaller contact area allowing for the tires to break free much easier and stay in a state of less traction once moving faster then the vehicle.... once the vehicle starts to catch up with the speed of the tires you will see traction start to increase as you begin to accelerate forwards.
Next time your out in the rain, driving around, screeching tires, trying to get moving try pushing the accelerator slightly less off the line and I bet you will get up to speed quicker than spinning your tires!

I dunno about that 😅 when I was driving my Pontiac Fiero I would constantly blow AWD off the line but snow or gravel was a whole different story 😝 now my 4.0L supercharged JEEP Cherokee in 4WD would have challenged the Fiero at least till 80km/h... the muscle cars in Port Alberni used to always challenge me in my Jeep as if I was the one to beat in town 😎 miss those days....

Haha nice man. I have an audi s5 now, 3.0 supercharge so its kinda beast. Used to have an srt 4 neon with upgraded turbo, front wheel drive. Had so much power can never take off the right way. Rolling in 2nd was like a rocket though. Fiero is classic man. My buddy is a big jeep guy too
To be honest I never hear people the way you describe and we have rain and mud and snow and dry periods too.
Perhaps they all should take driver's lessons again?
I think if I hear it it is done on purpose.. The driving style of a young lad bragging, asking for attention.
The only thing screeching here are brakes and timing belts.

Come to Canada after a dry period for the first rain I bet you will notice nearly every person spin their tires going over the painted lines... silly thing is they don’t let off the gas to stop spinning 😅
Yea the young punks do it on purpose but I doubt the old couples just trying to get going mean to spin their tires, looks of concern give that away 😝
