Why burn it? If you consider the evaluation of SBD prices is pegged at $1 dollar of Steem you will realize that SBD is essentially a loan of Steem. This means we have an outstanding debt of SBD and keeping that SBD in circulation will only reflect more upon Steem in future.
With current price of Steem below $1 it means “converting” 1 SBD you get more than 1 Steem while simultaneously burning that SBD from existence improving the over all standing of Steem.
Burning at a profit, I like the sound of that!

Well I agreed with your point that converting and into Steem will be very harmful for Steem only. As I think sbd is a bit strong currency and it will recovered in the way you said. But when it's come for Steem to recover it's very difficult. So while converting and into Steem we are harming more to Steem only :( .
I remember that As last year in the month of December sbd is far ahead from steem which means too that Steem is quite a weak currency than sbd. So it should get stopped as soon as possible
The strength of SBD is a bit of a misnomer as it is meant to be pegged at $1 USD which means when Steem is above $1 you will receive less Steem for your SBD but that does not actually mean SBD is worth more. As SBD is essentially a loan of Steem we must consider that SBD really only takes away from the valuation of Steem itself as we are holding a debt and hoping to make profit from it.
