Day 592: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday - Prompt: ear phones
Tom Soaring finally learned to love his commute again.
The "Coastal Dash" commuter train boasted one of the most gorgeous views in the state in terms of the view at sunset -- the ticket cost was nice and high to reflect it, and, 20 years earlier, it had been worth every penny.
But then, they had built a college on one end, and a huge gym, and an afterschool program for high schoolers. Throw a bunch of high-energy kids and young athletes in with commuters tired after their long day of work, and you had a noisy, grouchy mess. The view was still gorgeous, but the distractions were legion.
Tom Soaring had to come to hate the whole thing. He hated the distractions, and the fact that he could never enjoy the view without dealing with those distractions ... until his wife had gotten him some noise-canceling headphones, and built him a playlist to fit the sights he would see.
So, from then on, Tom Soaring enjoyed the view, his ear phones on, and let his soul go where his eyes were leading him ... Tom, soaring home on beauty both seen and heard.

Not quite... more like, ONE woman who loves ONE man knows how to solve HIS problems, just like he solves for her the problems of having resources to keep the family alive by enduring that terrible commute...
I loved this! You are so talented! You let your soul go where your eyes led you with that beautiful piece you played on the piano which was perfect not only for the photo but for your freewrite as well. I loved the idea of the playlist to go along with Tom's sights. And the ending was beautiful too. Tom Soaring "soaring home on beauty both seen and heard." Bravo!

What happened was that my friend was sending me photos of his journeys down the Atlantic coast, and I was improvising to them on the spot... it just so happened that this freewrite prompt reminded me that I had done that!
Everything came together perfectly. I loved it so much that I nominated this for my favorite freewrite. : )
