Homemade Jams
Have you ever made your own jam? Have you ever been so pleased with it that you wanted to give it as presents?
My mum was in that positions years ago when jam-making was something a lot of people tried. Mum made some marmalade that she was very proud of. I think marmalade qualifies as a homemade jam.
Mum slaved over the cauldron then poured all the marmalade into jars she had collected. When it was finally cooled down, she stuck on nice decorated labels she had made.
One got stuck on upside down. We had that one. We called it 'edalamram' instead of 'marmalade'. To this day, I always call marmalade edalamram and think fondly of Mum.
