Puzzle games are build in many version but I would share the mobile app game version as I am familiar with them. The screenshot is captured from the Google Playstore Apps landing page with the keyword "puzzle". Obvious it will display all the mobile game apps that are puzzle in mature.

Even within the mobile app category for puzzle, there are developers who build these applications with different style and look. Basically, they build around the basis of moving around images or small blocks that

1. provoke a matching to score
2. match the mixed up broken blocks of image to rebuild to its original image

Puzzle game is a very good and unique way for eduation and exercise the brain. For an example, a jig-saw puzzle style of a game app challenge the user to think of a way to move around the mixed broken images such that it can match the broken images so that it will eventually rebuild the orginal image.

Example: If you have a jig-saw puzzle for a house, then after the image is broken, the image is no longer seeing a house. and infact, there is not proper image left. Your task is to find and guess the broken blocks of images and move the around to rebuilt the house. For a jig-saw puzzle game, the easiest blocks is 3x3 formation. That meant the full image of a house is broken into smaller blocks in 3 rows and 3 colimns. that will make up 3 multiple by 3 and become 9 bsmaller blocks.

A typical puzzle game builder that allows the number of blocks to build into the following combinations:-

1. 3x3
2. 4x4
3. 5x5
4. 6x6
5. Up to 15x15

In order to attract players to continue to play the game app puzzle app developers sub-divided the category into expected players in terms of age group like adult and children with a content rating as a score qualifier. This content rating also serves as a declaration that protect the user as well as the store who published the apps for free downloads. This is particularly so to ensure mobiel app puzzle games are meant for certainly age group

1. below 3 years,
2. between 3 - 12 years,
3. above12 years etc

The entertainment purpose, some puzzle game are build for fun and easy to play around while some requires to learn the technique to move around the broken blocks.
