November Madness: Day 2 Update

Here's a recap of activity for Day 2 of @freewritehouse's November Madness.

Eight of the 17 participants posted word counts to our tracker form and collectively wrote 13647 words! One writer added some words for the first day onto the form as well to bring the two day grand total to: 33,103. Posting to the form is optional so that only includes some of the writers.

I was curious as to how the other writers were getting along and many are cruising! The total words of our group according to the official NaNoWriMo site (as of the time of this posting) is 47,112!

If you haven't started yet

It looks like some writers haven't started yet - at least their totals are zero on the website. I encourage everyone to enter their word counts at least on the NaNo website even if you think you didn't write enough. I put only 100 words in the first day but it was something more than nothing. So if you're writing a little, or a lot, go and post those numbers! Here's a screenshot of where to do it. Many of us had trouble figuring this out initially:

Just go to your Dashboard and you'll see the screen above (only with your info). You can update a daily word count or just enter your updated total.

And if you haven't written a word yet - keep the faith! Find some time and write when you can. Even if you don't think you can make 50,000 words, just do as much as you can. Whatever you get will be more than you have and who knows? It could be the start of a novel that turns out to be a bestseller!

Supporting one another

Many of our participants are posting daily updates, so please support them by commenting on or upvoting their posts. Getting around to all of them will take a lot of time (time we could be writing!) so my plan is to focus on 2-3 a day to make sure I can keep track of everyone at least a couple times during the month. I'm hoping everyone will find the time to stay connected in some way.

To help your fellow writers support you, consider posting links to your daily post in the 'writer's posts' in our discord channel in the NaNoWriMo section. This will help others find you quickly - and our fans too.

I've noticed a lot of support already! I love our community.
