5 Minute Freewrite Tuesday Prompt : follow

in #freewrite5 years ago

Shannara kept her fingers crossed. As a matter a fact, she even crossed her legs so that her entire physical body was under control. Since she walked into the large dining room, she felt not only fear but also full apprehension. Not knowing if she had made the right decision by coming to this unknown realm.

Yes ! This kingdom was totally foreign and unfamiliar to her. But she knew in her deepest heart this was right and absolute choice. Shannara recalled what had happened to her in the last two days.

Shannara. There's a letter for you. It came this morning in the express mail.

She knew clearly what that meant. In her world of wizardy, such mails only came via the Hogwards School of Enchantment and if one were to receive such mails, no good could come from it.

Shannara Florenstein. You are hereby sentenced to present yourself at the Hall of Judgement two days from now. Failure to do so will result in immediate dismissal from the Hogwards School of Enchantment.

Her hands shivered while reading the letter over and over again. Her breath became short and quick, following the pace of her heartbeat. Perspiration became to appear on her palm and she could even feel the dampness even on the base of her neck.

The dining room was quiet and the air was as still as a dead corpse. Shannara tried to move her feet but it seemed to have a mind of its own. She held her wand in her right hand tightly. That was her only tool of defense for whatever she was going to face. And whatever it was wasn't going to be friendly. Remembering her lessons during Madame Prescotti's spell classes, she waved her wand and follow with words of the only magic spell she could cite.

Ascatillia !
May light bright up the room
Oh No ! Please have mercy at me, Shannara said in one quick breath.

Many thanks to @mariannewest and @freewritehouse for bringing me along in this magnificent journey. Through them, I have found back my desires to write, be it fiction, freewrite, true or make-belief. I have evolved myself into more than just a reader. Unlike in the past, where I would stick my nose into a book and be amazed with the creations of others, now I'm able to share my own creations to the world.

My first freewrite prompt was : Time to move on in July 2018. Since then, I've never looked back. Just like the song Let It Go by Idina Menzel, when one start to write, the words just keeps flowing out continuously.

So, come join us and let the feelings come out from your heart and the words will eventually form on its own. Before, you know it, your first Freewrite is complete.

This is really cool. The first word reminded me of the Sword of Shannara series by Terry Brooks. I wasn't sure if that coincidence or not, but then you came up with Hogwards School of Enchantment. Nice use of fan fic to make your own original work. Great imagination.

Sword of Shannara? Ooo... I've got check out that series. I'm more of a magical fantasy with twist of Vampires/Warlocks kind of person. Maybe I should try the King Arthur version since I just finished watching Merlin on Netflix.

If you're into King Arthur and magical fantasy, you'll like the Shannara books. They are epic high fantasy. Lots of magic. Cool scenes, great characters. Awesome story.

Ooo... OK I'm definitely going to check it out. Thanks so much for the recommendation.

Are you planning for another Farmpunk fiction anytime soon?

Probably January for farmpunk. Taking a break in December.

What did she see?
I hope she has enough time for another spell to save her... it sounds like she might need some saving ... eeeekk

Nice one Ireen
Was just reading your foray into the writing world
Isn't the Free Write just great?
I should get back into it too ... I think the whole NaNoWriMo kinda got me good hahahaha

Thank you for reminding me of the liberating feeling you get from it <3

It's quite a change from 5 Minute Freewrite to Nanowrimo. Both gives different satisfaction levels. But I'm glad I have it a try

Nice imagination! I could imagine the part you wrote, "Her hands shivered while reading the letter over and over again. Her breath became short and quick, following the pace of her heartbeat. Perspiration became to appear on her palm and she could even feel the dampness even on the base of her neck.
