IMPORTANT

Messages have been pouring in. We have been talking about it for a long time now, years if you will. But this last month, this topic would work its way into most conversations even though we have known from the beginning of time that it is sensitive. Nothing has really changed. It is still very sensitive.

Families and friends have drifted apart, fought with each other, refused to talk to each other because of this. Some have been forbidden to bring it up, lest they wanted to be kicked out of groups and because of this, the sensitive ones leave, willing to give up the benefits of being in that group.

Some don't talk about it because they fear favours may be taken away from them. Some don't talk about it, because they have not done what it takes. Some are scared of the consequences of voicing their opinions and some don't even have opinions. They don't care, lost in their own world oblivious that it matters.

This one week, the talk has been deafening, culminating in the night before. Social Media profiles and status taking on the colours and photos to show their support. The Important day, the day when all that talk is put into action, just hours away. The last pitch, the last plea to exercise your right. Vote!

Some have been scared, worried that it may not be smooth sailing and prepared for it. Some have been praying, fasting. Some have volunteered to help where they can help.

Some will keep their votes a secret as it should be. They might drop hints but some will outright tell you in the hopes that the louder they are, the closer they are to making it a reality. The fact of the matter remains, only they really know what they ticked.

Right now, some have already done their part, taking pictures of their fingers as proof and plastering it on social media. Some are still queuing. Messages are shared on how to best manage today, what to expect, what to do and how to do it.

While they wait their turn, they share stories, experiences, hopes, dreams and possibilities of what's on the other side of this Important day. What will tomorrow bring? All the best Malaysia. This could be it!!
