Puzzle

Steemit is a Puzzle to me. I know of all these different pieces that come together to make the picture complete. Knowing and doing however, are two different things.

I just watched @mariannewest's ulog, and today marks her one year on Steemit. She does so much for the Free Writers and I am grateful for her efforts. I do one post and I know how much time it takes, so I can only imagine how stretched she must be.

Marianne talks about how some who started as the same time as her, have done better. Maybe because she has been spending so much time building the Free Writers, she doesn't have enough time for her own account. She also isn't as active on Discord, engaging with other Steemians as needed to grow faster. I'm going to share her Ulog so you can watch it if you haven't already.

Marianne shared her thoughts and feelings. And they weren't all happy. She has had many success stories from those who have made it, some have made it and moved on. But it doesn't translate to more rewards for her.

Listening to Marianne, I could relate to many of the things she was saying. And that's the thing with Steemit. It is a puzzle that needs to be figured out.

There's the Consistent Quality Content, and plagiarism is not tolerated (which really should be obvious). You need to then engage with those who drop in to comment and the only way that will happen is if you are making your rounds reading and commenting too. And then there's Discord and not one channel but all the different communities that you are a part of and you need to engage. And you hope that someone with a lot more power will support you so the rewards are higher.

All of this takes a lot of time. I remember there was one week, I thought I'd try and dedicate some time to Discord. You can get lost in the conversations, because it is fun to engage. And I have also learnt so many, many things sometimes just scrolling back on some of the chats. But it does take time and I dropped some balls in the Real World.

So I will be honest, I am still trying to figure this out, and I have been on a little over 8 months. I am still learning and I am happy to. I have come to terms that this is my journey and I want to enjoy my time on Steemit and I don't want it to be a chore. And this post by @eaglespirit I read today, resonated with my thoughts.

So, I will enjoy the process of fitting the pieces of the puzzle and the more pieces that fit, the easier it gets to completion. But on Steemit I guess, it will always be a journey as it keeps developing though the rapid changes. And so far, I've been enjoying piecing the puzzle together. I wrap here with a big shout out to one of my most favouritest people on Steemit.
