For the prompt “Queen of hearts”

Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary, affectionately known as Mother Teresa is a selfless soul who has sacrificed everything for those people who was suffering from poverty.

Her beginning was filled with very tough moments. Singlehandedly, she struggled very, very hard to fight against the poverty ghost feeding on the poorest of the poor to feed them.

One such incident is there to mark the extent of the sacrifice she has made.

After she made up her mind to take care of the destitute, she saw a baby in a dustbin and started a new journey from that point.

She went to a house of a rich person. She literally asked him to donate some money for taking care of that orphan baby which she was holding in her hands.

The very next moment, he spat on her face without any mercy. He thought she would be going away after that, but she stood still and said those words that must be etched in the history

“You have given something to me. Now please donate some milk to this poverty-stricken baby.”

His ego was completely shattered on hearing those words and gave some donation immediately.

But because of her stupefying efforts, a very small orphanage was able to become “Missionaries of Charity.”

Who, other than herself, can be a “Queen of (million) hearts” of the poorest of the poor?

For the prompt “Groundhog day”

This prompt has made me to think in this way. From Wikipedia, I came to know that this groundhog day is Pennysylvania dutch superstition.

Okay fine. Whether a groundhog emerging from its burrow to see its shadow or not or whether there is a clear weather or not or whether the winter will persist for six more weeks or not or whether it sees its shadow or not or whether the spring arrive early or not, nothing is going to happen to our lives and will continue to live as we used to be.

But,

If those poorest of the poor don’t receive a few morsels of food along with some few morsels of love from us, they will die!

Who cares?

But I was very much satisfied in this context. Because we are seeing some billionaires around the world actively involved in various philanthropic activities.

But is that "some" factor has that much potential to kill this poverty ghost?

Yes, each and every one of us must become a deadly weapon to kill this poverty ghost at any cost. Will we?

That day, I will call it a “Groundbreaking day”!

Will that ever happen? Will that become a reality? Will we try our level best to donate a few morsels of food along with LOVE to the poorest of the poor?

Let’s hope it to become, if not, MAKE IT a reality very soon!

Mother Teresa is definitely the "Queen of a million hearts." Love that! : )
I also love "Groundbreaking Day." Wouldn't that be wonderful not to have anyone living in poverty? I hope we live to see that day.

Hmm.... Her selfless journey began with that scarring moment, but the astounding thing is that this sour incident (spitting on her face) didn't deter her to stop continuing with this perilous journey! Hence wherever Mother Teresa is, t(h)ere (i)s a HOPE!
