5 Minute Freewrite: Wednesday - Prompt: sound of sirens

The ringing and buzzing just won't stop. You struggle each day and sometimes wish they would pop. Listen to tunes or songs of nature. You try to ease the annoyance of unwanted noise. You can't always tell or differentiate what is really going on at any given moment, with these sounds constantly inside your ears.
There is no cure, so you are stuck with it the rest of your life. The desire is there sometimes, to stab it with a knife.
All of a sudden you hear something else. You wonder if you are just hearing some stupid ringing again, but it sounds further away.
Wait, what is that and why is it getting louder.
Oh the the sound of sirens..If you struggle with tinnitus you know what I am talking about . (Darned timer went off)

......My added tidbit after the timer.
Tinnitus is a daily struggle for me since getting my eardrums blown 2 years ago. From what the specialist said, who did the hearing test, is that the eardrums are not sending a signal to the brain, as fast as it picks up sound. It's a few seconds off.
The ringing is caused by sounds that the brain still thinks it is picking up and or frequencies it misses. My eardrums pick up sound-waves and my brain picks up the signal too, but the linking/timing between the two sucks.
Did you know that even if a person is deaf, they too, deal with ringing and buzzing? Never would have thought that, but the gal who helped me get hearing devises, told me (and she is deaf).
