Red - single prompt, freewrite
I decided to post about this red flower when I saw the single prompt freewrite post by @mariannewest and decided to choose this prompt. If you like to write, please click her post link above and choose a prompt that appeals to you and start writing.

Red is a color that I like very much, especially when it comes to clothes. I also like red flowers. Roses and hibiscus are the ones which express the beauty of the color very much.
Red is also a color of auspiciousness where Hinduism is concerned. Brides wear red colored saree when they get married. Red bangles also are very auspicious and many women wear red glass bangles during the time of wedding and also before child delivery.
The 'Bindi' worn by women of India is mostly red in color. Also known as KUMKUM, it is used in worship of Gods too.
However, in many parts of the world, red symbolizes a strong power which leads to conflicts. Red is not used to paint walls or even used as furnishing as it is too bright. I don't know if there are exceptions but most people would prefer a lighter color for their houses and furnishings.
What is your favorite color?
Although I like red, my favorite colors are light pink, light blue and yellow.
