Day 267: 5 Minute Freewrite initiated by @mariannewest. Friday-Prompt: wildflower
Bittersweet Nightshade
While at the summer fair, Chester noticed a young woman he hadn't seen before. She was plain, yet pretty in her own way. There was just something about her, like a colorful wildflower that sticks out in the middle of the field.
Sarah had recently moved to the neighboring town of Hensen. After a few lunch dates and enjoying each other's company, they began dating exclusively. Two months later, Sarah lost her job and eventually her home. That is when Chester offered his place for her to live until she got back on her feet again. He made it known that he was falling in love with Sarah. She didn't want anything more than friendship but she led him on, taking advantage of his kindness.
And in the shade of night, Sarah left him for another man; a bittersweet ending for Chester.
