Three shots were fired, then screeching tires, some lady was dead in her bed.
The shooter was crazy, his target was lazy, smoking his doobie all hazy.
If only he'd checked that Summer Road was not a Drive, that poor lady might still be alive.
The banger went looking, but Paco was lurking, behind the white Chevy Caprice.
He turned down the street, his heater was sleek, but Paco was waiting for action.
He scoped out his target, poor Leroy was quiet, one shot to the head, and then he was dead.
No red roses for Roy!

I can't imagine being a victim involved with mistaken identity, especially in today's world.
I love this one 😍. It has all it needs, to be liked by many. Today's poetry. It has rhythm, goes fast, there is humor in it and life (once or now) presented all in one.
