My trip to the local coin shoppe Part 2

I like to collect items that remind me of my mother and father.
When I found out that my dad was born in the Year of the Dog 1910, I decided to check on my birth year 1958, and I'm the Year of the Dog also.
So this coin was an easy purchase for me.
Five solid ounces of 999.9 fine silver and a couple of beautiful Shepards on the reverse.

This Australian 2018 edition from the Perth mint, with a denomination of $8, and 65.6mm in diameter and 5.8mm in width, has a very nice feel to it.
I'm not sure of the mintage numbers yet, but I'm hoping that they are low.

The best thing about this purchase is, everytime I look at it, I will remember my father.

Keep stacking my friends!

That is a wonderful Lunar dog by the Perth Mint, @wonderwop, and the 5 oz size makes is special. But of course, you must have your Lunar Year sign in your stack. That would be very meaningful! Have a terrific day.

Thank you for the kind words. Once I realized I couldn't afford everything I wanted, I decided that I would collect things that had meaning in my life. 🙏

I am a rooster - if you ever find the perfect coin for me, let me know LOL

If I find the perfect rooster, I'll mail it to you. 💕
