Scratch Or Die Tryn'!

image (1).jpg

Dead or Alive,
back to 1975
when Theodore Livingston made
scratch a legend.

Back at da club
dig it, mix it and
extract the break.

Growing up with Mixmaster Mike,
GrandMixer DX,
Afrika Bambaataa and Grandwizzard Theodore
who dubbed the name "scratching."

Turntable maneuvers that
made heads spin.

Lesson series at the
San Francisco's Fillmore,
DJ life isn't for
everyone, but when ...

DJ Kool Herc, DJ Jazzy Jay, and Jam Master Jay
were ushered in,
a new culture and genre of music
with a flicka' da wrist.

They became
vinyl Gods.

S-C-R-A-T-C-H.

Grand Master Flash, New York

Or 'Adventures'

Mix Master Mike, San Francisco

Or 'Rockit'

DJ Jazzy Jeff, Philadelphia

Or 'Fresh.'

Hip Hop Battling,
with legs,
spray cans, and
records.
Play that Beat Boys.

Handstands,
east versus west
as we
watched
Rock Steady Crew;
ISP and X-Men

Scratch or Die Tryn'!

This was where my five minute timer went off ...

Greetings,
Thank you for stopping by to read my blog. I’m a First Nation member of the Hopi & Apache Native American tribes, Medicine woman in-training, first time blogger since November 2017, (right here on Steemit), paralegal, researcher, and writer based in the Mountains of Colorado, USA. I work closely with fellow planktons and minnows in a few groups by helping them adjust to Steemit and curate quality content. I’m especially interested in finding others who love natural medicine originating from ancient practices, gold and silver, energy work, and the spirit world. Additionally, I'm the creator of #MedicineCardMonday, so if you are interested in receiving a Native American blessing stop by my blog every Monday, or just say hello!
See you soon, @eaglespirit

Oh frig. That's when it happened! Mix Master Mike, jazz, and the GMFlash! Takes me back a bit to when hip hop actually mattered!!! Now all I see on the scene is big boats, Lotsa bling$$ and, well, if a lady can excuse me, hoes. (I think that's the term)

Mix Master Mike was and is the King of scratch, that's my opinion.
