#freewriting - Pigs
It must be hard to be a pig.
How can a pig at the same time be disgusting, dirty and 'not halal' (impure) and also provide in a great piece of meat, a leather coat, dog food, be the greatest hugger around and supplier of donor hearts?
If you kill an animal use everything.
That is what they do with pigs. If so at least there is no waste.
Pigs are easy since they eat everything (that includes a corps). Their skin is leather, paws great for the pea soup, there is plenty of bacon you can cut off it, smoked pig's ear is dog 'candy', bones for soup. Testikels, penis, heart, liver, tongue, stomach, etc it all can be eaten and it is eaten. If not by us, then by animals.
There was a time the bladder was used too.
Great as a condom or lampshade. The intestines are used to fill with minced 'meat' so you have sausages.
Now we discovered that pigs are great donors.
if it comes to the heart (who knows what more in future). The only question is: Who will accept a pig its heart (or other organ) instead of a human?
Will someone with a pig its heart change into a pig?
I do not like to have someone elses organ
so also not the organ of a pig.
The fact an organ is taken out of a person while he/she is still alive and it is very painful is one of the reasons (no brain death is not dead!).
An other reason is I will not grow old with a donororgan. If I want to live 15 years longer at least 3 people have to die for me and I will have to take meds, feel miserable and need to be happy because I am still alive.
Fact also is if someone gets into a hospital doctors will always check if it is a great donor first... if so they do not give the help needed.

@wakeupkitty I agree with you, when you kill an animal you use all parts that you can. My husband hunts pigs and there have been times we would not have any meat other than fish to eat, and he would get a pig which made many meals for us.
Is hunting always allowed? I hope he will find a great one!
Do you smoke it or with salt?

@wakeupkitty yes hunting is allowed where we live, in our state you can hunt hogs year round. my husband cuts the meat up and I put it in meal size packages and put it in the freezer, most of it is cut up for me to fry, some of it is to make roast, the ribs we barbecue or I cook with rice. He has a small smoker and sometimes he puts some of the fry meat in it or he will smoke a whole roast. which is usually the front legs.
Great you have a freezer and a smoker as well. It will save you a lot of money this way.
