The beach of Porto Santo
Porto Santo is a small island that belongs to the archipelago of Madeira, famous for its beautiful and enormous golden sandy beach.
The Island of Porto Santo is a haven of gold and blue. It is situated in the Atlantic Ocean and is 11 km long and 6 km wide. Porto Santo is sometimes called the Golden Island for its extensive, stunning 9 km-long beach of fine and silky sand, bathed by turquoise waters. The lenght of the beach corresponds to almost the entire length of Porto Santo. In 2012 it was named one of the "Seven Wonders" of Portugal in the category of “sand dune beach”!
