Of course i eat it without sugar, sometimes with some fresh white goat-cheese and green basil. Red, white and green is our Hungarian tricolor, looks beautiful together:

That's really deep red strawberries! I could eat them without sugar because they look really sweet and tasty!

Eper a kedvencem. Én cukor nélkül szoktam enni, mert úgy érzem az igazi ízét. Most hétvégén ettünk először. Sajnos még nem sajátot, mert az még nem érett meg, de lesz saját is. Kakaős piskótát sütöttünk, és a mellé is epret csemegéztem. Nagyon jó volt együtt.
Nem is értem miért kell cukorral elrontani. Natúran a legjobb!

I was born with a mild allergy to them. Growing up, if I ate too many, I’d break out in a rash, mostly on the backs of my legs. It was really only a problem – and a mild problem at that – when Gran’s strawberry garden was harvested and we had strawberries with everything for weeks on end.
Anyway, during the Flood of ’93, I became ill. That’s when everything changed with my allergy responses. I suffered a protracted illness that had every mild reaction, I’d ever had in the past, become dangerously serious. Strawberries now give me a rash as soon as I eat them. Many of the allergies turned life-threatening. EXAMPLES: MSG causes bloating and swelling and hives, needing massive doses of antihistamine therapy for as long as two full weeks; Melon causes my tongue to swell and respiratory distress (but I can usually counter it with liquid Benadryl; numerous food dyes cause problems from wheezing to respiratory distress (like the orange in Orange Crush soda, for instance), which can last for weeks and require cortisone treatment, breathing treatments, and the use of codeine cough suppressant to recover.

Strawberries are just now ripening and becoming available here in Tennessee. We put sugar on them also, but have never heard of the goat cheese and basil.
Try it, very delicious! And put some honey on it, instead of sugar.🍓🌞
I'm not even sure I can find goat cheese here, maybe in Nashville at World Market but that's 2 hours away. I bet honey would be good though. Never had thought of that either. :)

Well, you are right. Goat cheese is not vegan. But i love it very much! I'm ovo-lacto vegetarian now and the next step will be without egg, then without milk. So you can ignore my entry :)
