Fruits and Veggies Monday
Have you ever tried Fattoush salad ? For those who don’t know, Fatoush salad is an mediterranean salad believed to be originated from the country of lebanon.
Fattoush salad is common in middle eastern cuisine, There are lots of version of Fattoush salad.
For a basic Fattoush salad, it consist of cucumber, lettuce, tomato, carrot and radish. Sometimes they add fresh herbs like parsley or mint. It is dressed in zesty vinnaigrette dressings, Topped with fried arabic bread, and with a good amount of Sumac spice. This spice gives the salad a delicious, distinct flavour.
Tips for a Tasty Fattoush
- Fresh produce ingredients is always best!
- high quality extra virgen olive oil
- don't skip the sumac spice, this gives the tart flavour in the salad.
- fried arabic bread or pita bread, (don't buy the commercial one).
Top tip: You can add other vegetables in season for more added crisp and unique taste.
