Everything about The Royal Indian Wedding

The process of wedding starts when family of groom or family of bride finds a good match of their child and ince they feel that yes the family that they have found is suitable for them they fix a meeting.

So first step is MEETING: Now in this meeting family members of groom visits either bride's house or whatever place they fix jointly. The family of bride prepares all the breakfast and all and then meeting happens where they discuss about what does girl do and what are her qualifications , whether she how to cook and etc etc.Even brid"s family ask about the boy that hiw much does he earn and what does he do. Now if everything goes well then they move to the next step and that is called Kundli Milan. This is a Hindi word.

2 Kundli Milan: This is a Hindi term which means stars combination. In hindu everyone has their birth kundli which shows their stars of life. There are pundits means experts who does this match making of stars. They monitor kundli of boy and girl and find out how many stars are matching. The criteria for passing this 18 stars. If star matchkng is more than 18 then their pair is good snd will be successful in future. Then they move to next step and that is Shubh muhurat which means best date for marriage.

1. Shubh muhurat: Once the kundli test is over all the family members go to Pundit i.e expert for finding out which date will be best for marriage and it is also decided on basis of pundits knowledge. These pundits get handsome amount as Dakshina which means fees for this work.

Now as soon as date is finalized functions i.e ceremony starts 4 to 5 days before wedding date. All the relatives and family members gather at wedding place and ceremony and fun begins. Basically there are three main functions Ring ceremony, Sangeet and Reception.

Lets start with Ring Cerrmony: Both families finalizes a venue for ring ceremony and invites all the close relatives and family members for a get together party where the boy and girl excahnges their rings and marriage is officially announced and dates are also announced. All the peoples have dinner and fun like dance and music. Everyone enjoy theirself and look forward to the marriage.

Now second comes Sangeet. It happens just a day before Marriage. This is a special day for fun. Sangeet means music and music means enjoyment, fun. Members of both families prepares some sort of dance on their choice of song and they perform one by one on stage. Even the elder does their part very well and everyone enjoy to the fullest. In this function apart from family members and relative, local residing people are also invited. The dance function is followed by DJ night in which all the members are free to fance on dj music. Then finally cocktail party starts along with dinner. This is how sangeet ends.

Then comes the final Reception day. Reception is a night function where all the relatives, neighbours and all the known persons are invited. A normal wedding reception has minimum 800 to 1500 people. Its a formal party where the boy and girl sits on stage and people come one by one to meet and congratulate them. Dinner is prepared for all the guests. It starts at around 8 PM and end around 11.30 PM.

After the reception wedding ceremony starts where only family members are involved. It starts at Midnight and continues upto 4 AM. It is done by Pundit who says all the mantras and finally announces that the boy and girl are married. What happens in these 4 hours of marriage it will again require a complete post which I will share after this.
