I've moved to Hive, along with most other people, following Justin Sun's takeover of Steem in the Spring of 2020. I believe hive is a lot more decentralised than Steem!
All the fun of the fair....

Well... I feel like I have some insight here as I worked on a traveling beer festival for 6 months just after I fished university.
Honestly I think you've got pretty much everything spot on... apart from point 3 in the cons list. My experience was that it wasn't isolating being part of the crew who set up the event. In fact, it was like a tribal thing.
We'd role up in a new town and do a massive amount of physical labor putting up the marquee etc monday-friday. Then the site crew would band together, like 20 of us, and hit the town for a huge piss-up.
Lol, we were pretty much a tour de force of drunken shenanigans 🙃
They were some of my best party memories, post-uni.

Might have been bleaker if you had fewer options in life though... ie yr stuck in the job?
Exactly. That was my last big piss up after uni b4 my liver gave up the goose.
It was an amazing time though and I wouldn't take it back. It was my last ditch attempt to not take any responsibly for my life... and was a lot of fun 😂

I liked them when I was a teenager but I hadn't really thought of myself as feral. There was something about the lights and the sound and the smell of popcorn and candyfloss. It felt exciting.
I should've added in the noise - they are loud!
Not just feral teens - it's one of the few domains where you get cross class pollination. Maybe that'd a good thing?
Interestingly it was in full swing when I walked passed 18.30 yesterday - gone @ 5.30 this a.m.
They mustve dismantled late evening. Another layer of grim!

I've never been a fan of the fun fair after spending one summer as a kid running a bumper car stand. Hell on wheels and injuries aplenty from those maniacs behind the wheels of said bumper cars.

I've been walking back past it from work the last two days at about 18.00 - dozens of kids high on candy floss.
In fairness one of the rides does actually look quite good. Just the one mind.
There has to be one, just so that you dont deny your kids by saying it is all a load of rubbish hehe
