A. How are our 12 awesome Actifit Mentors Doing?

As we proceed in the Actifit mentoring program in May, I will continue to gather feedback and tips from our awesome mentors, so that we can work together to bring in more people (outside and inside of Steem) to use the Actifit app effectively.

B. A Chat Room in Discord for Actifit Mentors

A couple of weeks ago, @Mcfarhat started a #mentor-chat room in Discord to help our mentors to interact with one another. In this way, we can keep everyone updated regarding the progress of our mentors. It is important that we keep the communication going so that we can all help one another out in facing all challenges in the mentorship program.

We invite all the 12 Actifit mentors to participate. If you have questions, ask away.

Also, @jansen is the quality manager of Actifit, therefore the 12 mentors can also get feedback and support from him.

C. Writing Weekly Reports

As discussed in the Mentor Chat room, I will try to write weekly updates to keep everyone moving in a great momentum.

This report is 5 days overdue already because I have been quite busy helping some Actifit individuals. Well, better late than never.

Mentoring work is not easy. It takes lots of patience and wisdom to help a newbie to gain some initial success. These are the challenges that I face. I know we can overcome all obstacles because we have been quite successful in accomplishing this with the Partiko Mentors in Steem Mentor Team #1 in the last 4 months.

Of course, every community and every DApps are different. The needs of Partiko community are different from the Actifit community.

For this reason, I will address the challenges and provide the feedback given by our Actifit mentors in these hopefully "weekly" reports.

D. Challenges that Actifit Mentors are Facing

a. Challenge #1

Question: I have one mentee that started last week after I was accepted. I am a little unsure on how we document the situation as she is three posts in already.

In the previous post where I gave mentors guidelines in being a successful mentor, I suggested all mentors take a screenshot of the mentee that they are helping. All newbies begin with "0" activity.

Answer: If you are helping your mentee in using the Actifit app already and you did not take a screenshot of their "0" activity from the Actifit dashboard, you can simply ask your mentee to write a comment/post to say that you are his/her mentor. That is a good proof that you are mentoring that person.

If you are mentoring a new user who is already on Steemit, remember to do a screenshot of your mentee's profile at the very beginning. The reason why I need the screenshot is so that I can see that the person is starting from "0" activity.

If you are reaching out to mentees who are outside of Steem, it will show up on your referral dashboard. That will be proof that you are mentoring that person from the start.

Take a look at the following example:

• The name of the referred account is shown.
• The date and time of the new user signing up will show up here.
• This will become your proof of newbies coming in outside of Steem.

b. Challenge #2

If a steemian has a few actifit posts , but all of them are below 5000, i.e. zero rewarded activities. is he eligible to be my mentee? I assume yes?

Answer: At the present moment, mentors start from scratch with new users.

This is actually a very good question. As we develop the mentorship program more, I can discuss with @Mcfarhat and the team how we can proceed in mentoring these users.

For the time being, Actifit users who have 5000 steps below can follow these Mentoring posts to get tips from our Mentors as to how they can increase their steps in order to get rewarded.

c. Challenge #3

It is a tough experience, more than Partiko Mentorship. Probably because almost all the users have already tried Actifit.

Answer: Actifit is indeed very popular on the Steem community. But there is still a high percentage of Steemians who are not using the Actifit app yet.

According to the State of the Dapps ranking, Actifit ranks at #6 on Steem. We want to push the ranking up to #1 on Steem. There is still a lot of potential on Steem.

d. Challenge #4

Question: I am doing worse than I expected :smiley: Total of 4 people started using Actifit since I talked to them and all of them are from Steemit. It is hard to attract people from outside the Steemit. That landing page from the referral link is too complicated in my opinion. Especially for people who never heard about cryptos before. And ~90% of the people from my social media circle has no idea what they are and think that I am selling snake oil to them :smiley:

Answer: As you can see, our Actifit mentors are doing great work but the road to success is often paved with overcoming failures and obstacles.

We will use all these updates to find solutions to all these challenges.

If anyone has constructive feedback, we welcome them.

We don't have all the answers but we are definitely here to help STEEM grow by growing these smaller communities.

e. Challenge #5

I'm up to 6 mentees. 4 active steemians and two referrals. 2 of my mentees, that were active on steemit before, came from my Actifit app guide. 2 were steemit friends anyway. My two referrals I had been working on for ages and they finally indulged me!

Wow, it is great to get this kind of news and progress.

In my next weekly update, I will follow up on this so that we continue to move forward in strength.

E. Actifit Beginners Guide

One of our awesome mentor @cheese4ead wrote A Guide to the Actifit Fitness Tracker

This is a great guide for all mentors to use.

In the guide, @cheese4ead covers the following 4 headings:

This is a fantastic guide for all our mentors to use as one of your resources.

Thank you @cheese4ead for writing such a great guide. It is comprehensive and very well written.

F. Next Upcoming Event: May 16, 2019

Now that the mentorship program has already begun for 2 weeks, we want to invite all our 12 Actifit mentors to write a short report on how they are progressing in the Actifit mentoring program.

Some of our Actifit mentors have started writing Tips for Actifit mentors.

In the short report, you can share with us the following:

• Are you able to onboard new users outside of Steem?

• Do you find it easier to onboard new users who are already on Steem?

• What are some of the challenges you are facing in the mentoring program?

• How many mentees are you able to get in the last couple of weeks? In no way are we in any competition because rewards will be given to 10 mentees reaching ten days of activities. I just want to get a general idea of what the situation is so that I can monitor the mentoring progress better.

• Share with us tips that have worked for you in mentoring Actifit users.

• Share with us what doesn't work quite well for you in the Actifit mentoring process.

Try to write a short post in the next few days before May 16th.
