According to statistics, as it stand now half of the world’s population that is more than 3 billion people live on less than 2.50 USD whereas about 1.2 billion of individuals live on 1.2 USD, that is the extreme poverty categorization. According to UNICEF twenty two thousand (22,000) children die day in day out as result of poverty. 805 million people in the world cannot fend for themselves whereas about 750 million do not have access to clean water exposing them to lots of diseases including diarrhea, cholera and the likes. Poverty causes people to die from preventable diseases quicker, diseases such as diarrhea which could have been prevented are claiming lives of 2 million children every year. Thus it is pertinent that we meet as a global community to discuss these canker and how to go about solving these issues that claim the lives of good citizens.

On the 4th of March, a food festival was organized on knust campus with the theme of celebrating foods and the technological advancement that is making foods available to more and more people day in day out, helping to eliminate poverty to a certain extent and saving lives. @bettervision was privilege to be part of this celebration, we prepared foods and natural juice extracts and that are very cheap and highly rich in nutrients that promote eye health and prevents and impede the development of pathologies such as macular degeneration and the likes. The preparatory process was made known to the audience on how cheap and easy it is to prepare, it does not require much and the average Ghanaian can easily prepare it without having to use any significant amount. Food prepare included mixture of maize and borassus juice extract without any additive, then there was the Borassus juice extract handmade, watermelon juice extract handmade, carrot juice extract handmade and pineapple juice extract handmade.
