The Kumar Strikes Back

in #futsal6 years ago (edited)

Long been estranged from the Eldon Era of Futsal in Western Australia, Sirash Sasikumar has returned with a bang, collecting six points in the first four games of the season to start his SFL player/coach career with the Spearwood Lions.

Around the benches, the dressing rooms, the cafes and the stands, there has long been speculation that Sasikumar was payed handsomely to lead Perth Aquile out of the doldrums of State Futsal, following the collapse of the Alex Lalovic era at Aquile.

Sasikumar lead Perth Aquile to the promotion final last season, where they beat Longobarda FC 4-3 in extra time to secure their place with the big boys of WA the State Futsal League.

After a name change to Spearwood Lions, some quiet words between former foes El., Fonseca and Tidy, Sasikumar joined the SFL and has had a positive impact so far.

With the help of Italian Robert Armellini, nicknames Parmallini for his love of food, the Lions have been able to beat Murdoch Warriors and last season's Champions Fremantle Futsal Club in a massive upset.

The Lions will face South Perth this Friday night from 750pm via livestream on the wa state futsal league facebook page, or at the Pro Futsal Centre, 25-2 Port Pirie Dr Bibra Lake Western Australia.
