A Gift of Magic
I am not sure where I first heard of The Mysterious Package Company, but it was a couple of years back...that I’m sure of. I remember looking into it and thinking it sounded fanastic. I wanted one for myself but just never got around to ordering one because I’m stupid and a giant procrastinator.
First let me tell you a bit about them. They are a company that basically sells adventures!!! There is an entire library of puzzles and mysteries to solve! Depending on which adventure you choose, or is chosen for you, you will receive packages through the mail containing puzzles, clues, and physical props to utilize in your quest to unlock the answers.
So I decided since my wife @reeseshara loves puzzles, mysteries, and games...that I would order one of them for her as one of her Christmas gifts. It was initially supposed to arrive shortly after Christmas but UPS lost the package. Yay! After contacting “The Curator” at The Mysterious Package Company, they were quick to answer and send a replacement.
It finally arrived shortly before we were to head away to Pittsburgh so the wife only got around to opening it 2 nights ago but once she did, she was hooked and has been working on it 2 nights in a row now.
As I mentioned before, there are a ton of different types of adventures to choose from. Hollywood Murder Mystery, a Lovecraftian Cthulhu adventure, a Supernatural experience, an quest for a lost Tomb, a Sci-Fi adventure that stretches the boundaries of space and time, a Magic School about wizardry, a Haunted House that you must investigate, and so many more.
Depending on how detailed the experience is, you’ll receive packages and mailers spread out over weeks that you’ll have to work at to solve. Knowing the wife loves the world of Harry Potter, I went with the Wizard experience, Taako’s Correspondence School of Wizardry, Cantrips, & Other Magicks!!!

The Mysterious Package Company is tremulous with excitement and jubilation to bring back our collaboration with The McElroy Family — oldest brother Justin, middlest brother Travis, and sweet baby brother Griffin, alongside their father and radio legend, Clint — creators and performers of The Adventure Zone podcast.
The Adventure Zone is a bi-weekly comedy and adventure podcast based loosely on the popular Dungeons & Dragons game series, along with other role-playing games.
The tale will be told in the MPC Style: through several documents and activities sent to you by post, in addition to an interactive component will allow you to submit your work directly to Taako through a digital Stone of Far Speech! The second correspondence expands the story further and concludes with a unique reward that you can display in your home for all your hard work, making friends jealous and enemies envious.
This Experience will be a comedic fantasy tale, which enrols the player in Taako’s completely fictional, ethically dubious magic school. Although this Experience is based on the Adventure Zone: Balance arc, the McElroy family and The Mysterious Package Company have crafted it as an Experience anyone can enjoy. That said, it’s also jam-packed with Adventure Zone references that fans will love, or, at the very least, acknowledge politely.
This adventure was one of the more affordable ones at $75 dollars. I believe with the shipping it was just over $100. There are some that are much more detailed and include crazy props and such. Those are also several hundred. I figured to start with, I’d start a bit more simple and see the reaction. I’m pleased to say it’s been nothing but positive thus far.
She’s been working on it the past couple nights. Deciphering hidden messages in forgotten languages. Interacting with the funny website that’s made her laugh out loud several times already. She was all excited to get back to it last night. I believe she’s completed 2 steps in this adventure so far and still has a few more to go.
My son saw her working on it and now he wants one. We might get him one for his birthday which is coming up...now that I know what to expect. Either way, if you like games and problem solving, I highly recommend you check out one of the amazingly detailed and fun adventures of The Mysterious Package Company!!!

Yea I know a few who would love something like this as for me I wouldn't have the time but it's a great distraction for those who like to get away from the computer and do something fun.
I guess I and your wife love the same thing but I will prefer adventures
