Dota 2 New Matchmaking Season!

Woke up today to great news, Reddy Wykrhm announced that tomorrow will be the start of a new season for rank Matchmaking! Not a big fan of the new mmr system but, I really want to test out my skills on some heroes I’ve been working on; and also see what rank I now belong in.

I have always been in the 4k bracket, highest I’ve reached is actually only 4.7k. The new MMR calibration will be like nothing before it, using only WIN/LOSSes to calibrate our new MMRs. This is questionable as in alot of games I’ve played, not all players contribute to the winnings of a team- most of the SOLO rank players below 5k are being carried most of the time.

However, this has a good side to it, as players can no longer spam heroes that easily provide high GPM/KDR stats to pump their ranks during the 10 game calibrations. Heroes like Tinker, Zeus, Alchemist have been used in the past to quickly boost player stats, making them seem impressive on most games they’re picked.
