EOT PROTOCOL: Platform for Decentralized Gaming and Game Distribution

in #gaming6 years ago

Ever wondered how the applications on your smartphone came about? Yes, I know some were pre-installed. I’m aware you might have downloaded some from the Play Store. Entertainment and fun-seeking is something the human race cannot do without.

There are cinemas where you can watch movies. But would you prefer taking the stress of going to the movies rather than having fun at home with your smartphone? Yes, you can actually get amazing experience on your smartphone or PC by gaming.

The global gaming industry is on the increase and is acceptable across multiple ages – old and young, teenagers and adults. While many regard gaming as time-wasting venture and childish, there are actually amazing insights you can get when you play games such as Temple Run and Candy Crush.

Looking at the gaming industry, you’ll realize there are readily available games for anybody. Developers on their part are willing to introduce new games to the market just as the market (gamers and players) are ready to play any game that is available.

There are loopholes in the traditional centralized gaming industry and we shall look at some of them.

Existing Problems

A friend might have requested you share an application or game to him. You might send this across through Bluetooth or sharing apps such as Xender. What you’ve just done is known as distribution and that’s the same problem holding down the gaming industry.

Games are not transmitted to devices through thin air. They’re either pre-installed on your device or downloaded from game distribution platforms such as the App Store. With the internet here with us, distribution of games are now done over the internet.

The problem here stems from different angles. On one part, developers are blamed for not churning out more games. Gamers and players on their part are receiving fair share of the treatment as they’re accused of withholding support. Gamers were expected to make In-App Purchase for non-free games. The idea is to use raised funds in supporting developers’ cause and quest to develop more games.

What I consider the main problem is the incursion of distribution platforms. It is outrageous when game distribution platforms seek 30% cut from developers’ earnings simply because they helped distribute their games. It is not limited to distribution platforms as advertising platforms also charge high rate for promoting games.

The other problem rocking the gaming industry is efficient payment. Some games are not free but demand In-App Purchases. So when such games lack efficient and multiple payment channels to attain scalability, there are bound to be problems. There’s an available solution to these problems.

The solution from EOT PROTOCOL

The blockchain had been home to many blockchain gaming platforms. EOT Protocol is here to bring decentralization to the gaming industry. In the traditional game distribution industry, centralized platforms such as Play and App Stores distribute games themselves.

Hence, the developer has no say to how his game should be distributed. EOT is coming with full decentralization of the gaming industry by using the blockchain technology. Developers can now distribute games themselves and keep the profit to themselves.

A new Approach to Blockchain Gaming

IMG_20180714_210229_532.jpgEOT is not stopping at returning power to game developers but is also investing in blockchain games. Using the blockchain gaming models known as CryptoAlpaca, EOT is creating the Blockchain 2.0.

EOT is also interested in decentralized or blockchain games and is tilting developers on its platform towards that. The EOT Foundation will fully enhance developers and project them towards the creation of Decentralized Games (Dgames).

Earning Opportunity

EOT is using the Ethereum blockchain and aims at incentivizing its users. Anytime a player refers some other player to play games on the EOT blockchain, he is rewarded with the EOT token.

Wrapping Up

Decentralized or blockchain games are great concepts. There are however few platforms that offer such. EOT is here to creating conducive environment for developers who want to develop more games.

EOT is solving issues in the traditional gaming industry. It also rewards players who have been consistent. If you’re a good developer, you can now develop blockchain games. For the player, you get to earn while playing your favorite games.
