Pokémon, one of Nintendo's most successful franchises with a huge following around the world, is undoubtedly one of the most beloved by Nintendo fans.

Since the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in 1996, many people have been totally fascinated by this videogame, its gameplay, soundtrack and design of the characters and monsters were essential reasons to become what we know today.

However, there is a very curious fact in this video game, although their songs are oriented to children one of them can be somewhat tenebrous, it is the song of the Lavender Town.

The Lavender village was a small town that had a tower which rested the dead pokémon, the atmosphere of this place was created for the player to feel some fear while exploring its corners, but lacked something to give that magic touch, a good song.

That's how the composer Junichi Masuda was entrusted with this task, creating a melody that at first can deceive you, involves a very mysterious tone and something uncomfortable when you enter the context of the game.

This song became very popular in 2010, when a user of the web application called Pastebin uploaded a small text telling a story, currently it is not known if it was real or not, forming a lot of theories about it.

He spoke about a syndrome which was called "Lavender Town Syndrome", it consisted in that the music of this people had frequencies which were quite perceptible in the children causing certain complexities to the brain of the infantile players.

According to the writer of the urban legend this song caused more than 100 suicides, in addition there were other cases of severe headaches, nosebleeds and even sudden attacks of rabies.

This became so viral that it caught the attention of many players, making the Lavender Town song the second most terrifying melody of 2012. With the passing of time they have created mini-games focused specifically on this part of the game, trying to scare those curious who want to know about this song.
