Assassin’s Creed III Remastered Set to Arrive in March
Ubisoft has dropped a new trailer for its previously announced Assassin's Creed III Remastered and in it we see the 2012 title showing off some distinctly warmer tones. Officially set for release on 29th March 2019, the remaster will be taking players back to the American Revolutionary War with them returning to the shoes of tomahawk wielding Native American assassin, Connor Kenway.
Back in September, Ubisoft revealed that the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Season Pass would include the remastered versions Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Liberation, with Liberation also scheduled for release on 29 March 2019. However, for those who don't own a Season Pass, both games will be available for purchase as a standalone package. The post-release DLC for Assassin's Creed III will also be included in the bundle, allowing players to try-out the Benedict Arnold Missions, the Hidden Secrets Pack, and the Tyranny of King Washington storyline.
The games are set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and Ubisoft has stated that Assassin's Creed III will not only be improving graphically with HDR and 4K support but will see improvements in both gameplay and ergonomics as well.
While not perfect, Assassin's Creed III boasted beautiful landscapes and an interesting setting that kept me captivated when I initially started up the game on my PS3 in 2012. It's updated take on open world exploration allowed for greater freedom in an Assassin's Creed game, with players being introduced to the navel combat system which would become the selling point for the next game in the series: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
However, while the original Assassin's Creed III was available on the Wii U console, there hasn't been any conformation from Ubisoft on whether we will see this title on the Switch in the future.
