Fallout 76 beta progress will carry over into the full game

in #gaming6 years ago

Bethesda has confirmed that players who take part in the Fallout 76 beta can carry over into the full game. They also confirmed that the B.E.T.A (Break it Early Test Application) is in fact an installation of the full game, that unlocks once released. The news comes from the official Fallout 76 FAQ page. The FAQ updated last night to read "Is the B.E.T.A. going to be the full game and will my progress carry over to launch?" On their website, Bethesda answered "Our current plan for the B.E.T.A. is it will be the full game and all your progress is saved for launch." While still only a beta, Bethesda haven't confirmed how much of the full game will be playable during the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A, or if players will encounter content that is reserved for the full release.

Fallout 76 is the highly-anticipated multiplayer only entry in the Fallout series. The game was announced back in May, and Bethesda shocked fans by announcing that it would not be a traditional Fallout RPG sequel. The new game takes place in West Virginia and features a unique wasteland unlike anything seen in the Fallout series. The new multiplayer direction was first thought to mean a Battle Royale type game, but since Bethesda's E3 conference players now know it is a four player co-op styled RPG with PvP elements. Most recently, Bethesda announced that cross-play might potentially be available for Xbox One and PC, but Sony was blocking attempts to include PS4 in this.

It is also interesting to note that the official website doesn't contain any mention of Steam. PC Gamer is speculating that this means Fallout 76 won't launch on Steam, just through Bethesda.net. Earlier today, they confirmed that "the PC version of Fallout 76, for both the B.E.T.A. and the launch, will be available only via Bethesda.net, not on Steam," a Bethesda rep said in an email. This is similar to the release of Fallout Shelter in June 2016, which released on Steam in March 2017.

The Fallout 76 B.E.T.A will go live some time in October, while Fallout 76 releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 14.

Indeed. Sometimes though, I go in for a sneak peak to see what I'm up for haha!
