Fortnite launches Marvel Infinity War event
Epic Games announced today a crossover event with Marvel Studios for Fortnite to celebrate the success of Avengers: Infinity Wars. The story comes from an exclusive from Entertainment Weekly. This crossover event will come in the form of a limited time "Infinity Gauntlet" mode. Players will play the normal 100 player game, but somewhere on the map is a hidden and fully-powered Infinity Gauntlet. When players acquire the Infinity Gauntlet they will turn into Avengers: Infinity Wars' antagonist, Thanos, wielding ultimate power. The “Infinity Gauntlet” mode will be available for free today across all platforms (PS4, Xbox, PC, Mac, and mobile)
The Mad Titan's appearance in Fortnite is more than just cross promotion, riding the success of both Fortnite and Avengers: Infinity Wars. According to Entertainment Weekly, Avengers: Infinity War co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo are huge Fortnite fans. "Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games," said Joe Russo. The brothers contacted Donald Mustard, worldwide creative director of Epic Games, directly about a crossover.
As it turned out, Mustard was similarly a fan of Infinity War, telling Entertainment Weekly "Infinity War blew us away." They partnered with each other to give their fans an experience that felt organic to both Fortnite and Avengers. Mustard states "It was really important that whatever we did, it had to be super authentic to both Fortnite and the Avengers: Infinity War, and something that fans of both would be excited about. About an hour later, we had the bones of this awesome idea for a limited time gameplay mode, and almost immediately our team got started."
"The Russos, Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios President), and the whole team at Marvel have been incredible to work with. This kind of opportunity, where you have this mutual respect for someone’s work and you’re on the same page about doing something cool for fans, is rare and really exciting. We hope players love it."
It looks like Epic games are doing their marketing right for a long time now... This is going to drive all the kids crazy and even those that were immune to Fortnite will download it now.
Yup, their marketing is on point and Ninja the streamer is doing wonders with it as well streaming with prominent rappers etcetc. Its a gravy train for them at the moment haha

The game fortnite is actually a huge success once they introduce the battle royale mode into it. This is just an event that is created within the game. They usually have events weekly but this is one is most likely riding on the infinity war hype
