Back to 2005 with Lineage II Classic.

Hello everyone!

This excites me a little, a few days ago was released an OFFICIAL server for Lineage II, the first saga in history called Rise of Darkness, that is, is a version that was released for the first time a long time ago. NCSOFT this time has bet everything to play with the nostalgia of its most experienced players and announced recently that it would open a Classic server to reminisce about the past.

I write this as information for those who would like to return to this magical world, the game opened this October 3 and has a population that goes beyond a thousand people, this has three servers: Giran, Talking Island and Aden.

If you do not know this game, here you can read a post I did some time ago about the reasons why it's a good game to pass the time.

This photo was taken the first day the server opened, the queue was more than a thousand people to enter to play

Saga 1: The Chaotic Throne, Rise of Darkness.

This chronicle is quite peculiar for its leveling system, it is perhaps one of the most difficult, and it is precisely the slogan that NCSOFT sells when promoting the launch, ''experience the classic hardcore leveling mode, where the rewards were worth the effort''.

With these messages NCSOFT made it very clear their mission, to return to the old, at last they have realized that they have ruined the history of Lineage II with the passage of time, from the third saga Goddes of Destruction, this game totally changed to something different from their classic ancestors, so that an average player of today would never know what had happened in the past, or would not have the same feeling of satisfaction when reaching a level.

It seems that this company finally realized that the oldest sagas were the greatest success of their game. If we look for private servants of Lineage II in their great majority they count on more than 5 thousand players who prefer the old versions (a great loss of money for NCSOFT that had continued betting by its third saga that ruined everything).

Lineage II Classic main characteristics:

1. The maximum level is 70, (the current chronicle reaches up to 110)
2. The 31 classes that originally existed in the past return. (in the current chronicle it ends with 5 classes that although they have small distinctions, it feels as if they are all the same).
3. The highest grade is B, it is thought to add grade A objects in the future.
4- Formerly, the most precious objects were falling from the inventory if a player died in any way, and some player could steal them, one of the small updates is that this can not happen anymore. This now happens when a character has more than 4 Pk.

My experience

I was testing the server and despite being old, it carries with it a small update, in the interface, in some windows, it's like playing the Lineage II from 15 years ago but with the updated interface.

The server has many more facilities in terms of objects, as you go up the level you are acquiring rewards like scrolls to increase the experience, potions, and some other things, (that did not exist before).

The leveling system did return with its same characteristics; complicated not to say incredibly difficult, the experience loss penalties are very high when dying, but even so I recommend it, the mmorpg tend to be better when they make the player feel the satisfaction of getting something that is difficult.

If you want to download it, I invite you to be part of the experience, here is the download link:

Hah! LAII, that's awesome! One of the first MMOS that I ever played, thanks for sharing!
I've actually been doing some "historical" gaming posts lately, covering noteworthy games released in certain years (just made two about 93 and 2000) and i think I will surely give it another run some time soon :)

That's a good idea friend!

Que genial esta noticia, me encantaria jugarlo de nuevo pero no tengo tiempo!, que nostalgia.
