From the developers of paladins champions of the realm comes realm royale and I must say it’s about time.

Few months back an update was made on paladins champions of the realm which involved a battle royal open world match added to the paladins champions of the realm map and after staying for few dates it was removed, although I had no idea why it was removed and during the few days it was live, the gameplay was superb, spent close to 5hrs playing it, even though I was no good with the controls it was still fun playing it.

Realm royals, although currently in alpha stage I must say it’s really looking promising.

Although currently in alpha stage, you would probably think the number of users will be little or none, or strictly restricted to the developing team until its Beta stage is released.

Well that’s not the case, probably because a medium as already been set in place to show case this game, talking about paladins champions of the realm, the game realm royals is been shown as a form of ads when you access paladins, hence the possible reason for the downloads we see today.

Realm Royals

Is a battle royal base game were users gets to fight each other using equip that can be found from chess box located all-round the map or it can be looted from fallen comrades or other killed players, pick your choice.

The only way to win is by killing all opposite teams or be the last alive upon timeout when the rain closes in.
It was released recently in an alpha stage to the public via steam store as a free to play based game, users have the ability to download and be part of the early testers, from my perspective the game sure do look promising and I believe more updates are coming in to modify or delete certain features currently available.

Unlike other battle royal base game were users have the ability to play as a solo, duo or squad match, realm royals currently support just two match options which are

• Duo and

• Squad.

Players have the ability to either go on a squad match made up of four players or add a friend or use an auto-fill option which is currently available and go on a duo match with a random user generated randomly when you click or a duo mode, same thing happens on the squad match a randomly selected system is in place to pick other random users who are currently in search of a game and selection is not based on location dependent rather it is picked from whoever is currently available and ready to duel.

At first, upon downloading the first thing I came across was the screen resolution, it was unable to select the right screen resolution just like other games do, to get a better gaming experience this can be done via the options menu shown to you when you access the game just a little bit close to the log in option, click and select the appropriate screen resolution that matches your window.

The log in option uses your default steam account, in other words the need to create another account probably with Hi-rez is not needed as the case may be on paladins champions of the realm.

We currently have five options available at the menu, some are locked probably waiting for a update to roll in before they can be accessed and others even they are currently unlocked, they houses little or nothing

• The armory option, currently has one chicken which is set as a default option shown when your character is killed in game and waiting to be revived, from my perspective other options would be available to players over time and they could pick from a wide range of options to be shown when their character is killed and waiting to revive.

• Shop, this probably be a menu users will be able to purchase in game skins, probably boosters and what have you, and although the only method of applying any more equip is by using a redeem coded which I think will be given out as a surprise package to the users.

Four different servers are currently available for players to choose from, which ever provides a better ping or player’s location and which is currently active.

List of regions are:

• Brazil

• North America

• Europe and

• Southeast Asia.

For a game currently in its Alpha/ early development stage it sure did come with a lot of regions when compared to the regions supported by other games.

Game currently houses two match mode which are

• Duo match mode or

• Squad match.

Both currently have auto fill team, which automatically matches you up with other players, if you got no friends currently online or you are yet to join a team.

Friend list currently filled up by users available via your account and a notification is shown to you if they are currently playing same game as you or if they are playing a different game and an option is available to invite to a party for those currently playing same game as you.

Gameplay

Unlike other battle royal matches were you click on match and a waiting rooms shown to you and you are deployed to the map, realm royals made some changes, you have the ability to choose from five different types of character and each as its own unique set of skills.

• Warrior

• Engineer

• Assassin

• Mage

• Hunter

The above reminds me of the characters we currently have available on paladins champions of the realm, although they are four but for some reason a similarity can been seen, even though the classes names are different but at the end it would be wise to go with three or four different classes if you playing as a squad match.

Each class comes with its own unique set of skills which you can see from the screenshot shown below, some class have a better and more advance portion use and other come with a better defensive skills making each class unique in its own way, that way advantage over other players won’t be questionable.

Waiting room

This is common on all battle royal based match, were players are placed in a waiting room for the list to be filled up before deploying players to the map.

Most times you can familiarize yourself with the controls by interacting with the options available to you, other times you just got to wait and chat up close players or team mates.

A push to talk option is currently available to converse with other players via voice or a chat type system is used depending which ever you prefer.

Map

The map range is quite wide and means of transportation is via a horse which you can summon anytime when you not in a building, guns and equips can be found via chess box dispersed over the map, they can be seen via different buildings and a location of rare items comes up once a while, players can either go for it or ignore it.

A forge option is also available which give players the option to forge better equip using stars that can be collected from chess box or looted from killed players.

When forging a weapon/equip, a smoke signal is shown to all players closed by, both friends and foes and the option to attack is available.

Equips

Five different slots are available to use, two weapons availability both secondary and primary weapons in which players can choose from common to legendary weapons, others are portions which gives players more advantage over others when collected from chest box.

The game is totally based on player’s ability to adapt and use different portion to best defeat opposite teams and one of the major distinctive feature between realm royale and other battle royale game is, when a user/player is shot and depleted of health bar they can't be revived by another team, they are changed to a chicken which is automatically revived back within a period of 30secs if the foe does not kill him.

Meaning even if shot and left alone, the user wont be killed in a chicken state unlike every other battle royale base game, where players get killed after a period without another team mate been around to revive them.

I must say the game has a bright future ahead and with time it should be able to battle the top positions held by other battle royal base game with different reasons.
