Your take on offline, online gaming

Hi guys, been offline in terms of gaming these past few weeks, due to the never ending cost of internet connection from my region, makes online gaming somewhat of a very expensive thing to partake in, probably one of the reason we have low turn-up of individuals who game from this region that and slow internet speed as well, if you able to get a ping of say 230ms to 250ms that ends up been stable throughout the gameplay then you must be lucky, although I do game on 3G network connection, yet to get a 4G connection at my region, but other places now uses 4G and I heard the internet cost there not too high as 4G connection was initially built for browsing and not calling, or what have you.

Just hoping a time would come when those internet providers will start migrating to other towns and regions here in my country, can’t wait to start gaming more.

Lol just remember a gaming statement, ever gamed were you end up getting killed immediately after respawning?

The usual excuse is LAG and most times I find myself doing that.

With that out of the way, this probably a short survey or so and would like to get your opinion as to online gaming, solo or co-op game which do you prefer and which do you must times find yourself playing.

The co-op can be offline not necessarily online base, just how we used to game on retro consoles way back on Nintendo and Sega genesis, if you played Contra then you probably aware of how much fun you can get from playing those games.

Recall, how I used to play with elder bro on offline co-op mode, controlling our various characters and most times you can’t advance further without player two reaching your current destination and other times you could advance forward and make the game screen catch up to player two killing them along the way, yea fun moments, those particular cases can be seen in Contra nes, that’s Nintendo and level 3, waterfall if memories don’t fail me.

Remembering that particular scene is kind of funny still hearing elder bro echoing to me, that if I don’t move fast, he was going without me and I end up re-spawning ahead of him after the screen must have gotten to my destination, but then, the funny part was that, must times you needed two players to defeat that stage boss and if you end up killing player two continuously then a point would reach when player two exhausted their extra life point, which means you had to advance forward on your own, must or sometimes he was able to defeat the boss alone and other times not so much.

After playing for a while, he would just quite the game and only play when another user comes in, someone with better control of the game and they would play for hours to finish the game, lol yea unlike recent gaming were you had checkpoints, some retro games back then didn’t have such, there was no external storage to save your progresses as you advance further, meaning when there was power failure or you decided to quite the game, means that you would end up starting the game all over.

Although certain games on Sega genesis did support storage features, not using external storage devices but rather you could access you last check point using code, probably the game was built in such a way that if users had these unique code, they could spawn anywhere in the map, but in other to get these codes you first had to defeat that stage and example of such game was Tiny Toons.

The game was a solo player game, and adventurous as well, one of the games I mostly spent time playing after sonic, if you played on Sega genesis console then you must have played sonic as well, unlike sonic, Tiny toon had somewhat of a saved or cheat features, you might call it cheat if you didn’t play up to that level before applying or getting that code, probably from a friend or so, while if you played the game constantly and was able to get the various codes for each stage or level, then you might consider it a save option.

Some might even go as far as to sell those codes then, imagine completing a game that would take hours to finish but then after 30 minutes you probably through with the game due to you having unique codes that gave you access to various stage or level without having to go through level one or so, surely it would have fetch a good price then, won’t be a surprise if certain users here actually engaged in that xd.

Recent times, it became somewhat hard to see games that actually run on co-op offline mode mostly on PC, I doubt I have actually played a co-op offline base game on PC before now that’s if you don’t put sports games like soccer into the list, would love to try some co-op game on PC without having to be connected online, just gaming with friends offline, so if you know of any do leave a comment behind for that as well.

That been said, I would love to know your thought as related to solo, online, split-screen/co-op gaming and some of your favorite games, they can be retro games, earlier games fps or any genre just leave a brief comment about them below.

Till some other time do have fun and stay bless.
