Cristiano Ronaldo On FIFA 19 Cover; Game Reveal On Saturday June 9th 2018

Cristiano Ronaldo has yet again appeared on the cover of EA Sports FIFA series. The Real Madrid star had made an appearance on the FIFA 18 cover last year and updates on the EA Sports FIFA Twitter page indicate that Cristiano Ronaldo is storming the game encore in two consecutive years. The cover features Cristiano Ronaldo in the new Real Madrid kit with the game title and the date scheduled by EA for the game reveal. The EA play conference which will be streamed live on YouTube on 9th June 2018, and among the big reveal for FIFA 19 will be other games as well, Battlefield 5 inclusive.

While CR7 appearing on the cover of FIFA 19 came as no surprise to many, some fans of the franchise just wish EA Sports could change style a bit and use some outstanding performers in football other than the monotonous Ballon D’or giants, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Argentinian star, Lionel Messi, has appeared four consecutive times on the cover (2013,2014,2015 and 2016), with 2017 being Germany’s Marco Reus and 2018 and 2019 being Cristiano Ronaldo. Many fans had hoped Liverpool star Mohammed Salah would be the cover for 23rd installment of the game for his wonderful performance this season, but EA Sports thought otherwise. Perhaps, losing the Champions League this year was the heavy price he had to pay. With winning side Real Madrid securing the spot for Cristiano Ronaldo who performed really well this season as well. We many never know for sure, but whatever the choice made by EA Sports, I’m guessing they have their reasons.

Not much is known about FIFA 19 yet since the official reveal will be on Saturday, June 9th. However, there is a great anticipation that the UEFA Champions and Europa Leagues will be included in this year’s release, a feature which was already available on top competitor Pro Evolution Soccer series for a while now.
