Hidden side-benefit of Fallout 76

in #gaming6 years ago

Fallout 76 has me cautiously optimistic, but I recently realized a hidden or side benefit of Bethesda releasing a new Fallout game, especially if it happens this year.

Bethesda tends to discount previous games from a franchise, leading up to the release of a new entry.

This means that Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 should get a massive discount in the week leading to the release of Fallout 76.

As you can see from my wishlist - while I've played both Fallout 3 and New Vegas - they were either pirated or borrowed versions. I do not own them and I've decided awhile back that I need to replay them at a certain point, especially Fallout 3 because that's the one I haven't played since its release pretty much.

I did play and finish New Vegas with all of its DLC about 4-5 years ago, but the last time I played 3 was even longer than that, and I think it's time it gets another look from a much more adult and experienced me :)

So even if Fallout 76 isn't what you're hoping for, make sure to wishlist the other titles and keep an eye out for discounts leading up to the release of F76, I know I will :D

I am so hyped for FO76, but I actually might not play it if it's a multiplayer survival game like RUST. I'm more of a single player person (unless it's starcraft or CS).

Also surprised you haven't picked up FO3 and FONV in the 10 steam sales previously (exaggeration lol)

I wasn't in the Fallout buying capabilities up until relatively recently. I picked up F4+all DLCS last year on a wonderfully massive discount. And I don't know if I can buy Fallout76 on release, actually. 40-50 bucks is out of my normal budget but I will buy the shit out of F3 and F:NV when they're on sale!

Hey, totally understand what you mean. I haven't done day one purchases in such a long while. I'm not a streamer or anything, and there's literally no point to buy day one (and pay USD 60!) I just wait till its the full pack like GOTY and buy it.

PS a great site to use before you buy is steamdb. I go to see if the current discount is the lowest discount :) Hope this helps
