Sweet Varsity High School Esports Teams Are A Thing, The Future Is Awesome

Illinois now has a varsity high school esports team. First there were college scholarships and now this. This is a big deal for the field as it is legitimizing it at a high school level and thus providing a bright future for the sport. That's right I called it a sport :p.
Esports will be huge in the future and you might see them more and more on tv and arenas. Twich has already proven to be successful and it will only grow from here. There is also a lot of international appeal to esports as players around the world gather for these tournaments. None of these games are country specific so a league can find a global viewership.
I am curious to see what games take over the epsorts world in the future. At the moment it looks like fortnite is the the go to and with squad based game-play you can have teams built around it. I want to see more games that are designed for esports in the years to come.

Esports is the future and it's great that college Esports is a thing, I just they don't go and regulate them with NCAA rules since I believe those are exploitation towards the college athlete.
Anyway, this is a great thing going forward and I hope it gets implemented more, I for sure will support college Esports on my favorite games like LoL, PUBG, and Hearthstone.

I'm not a big gamer by any means but this is DOPE! Encouraging kids at that age to get involved in activities that will further their social interaction is a positive step. It may even help remove the divide that is common between the different social factions found in most high schools.
