Haha... I know it sounds a little crazy on the surface... but it does make sense! (Or is that what all crazy people say...).

Anyway, a few weeks back we had our house re-mortared... which meant that they drilled away most of the existing mortar before pasting on the new stuff. Needless to say it was noisy and messy work. Well, the noise stayed only during hte work... however the mess, the dust and hardened concrete remained.

So, with a couple of days of rain, the dust turned into a bit of a solid paste... in the grass, in the garden... on the window frames... on the roof... just everywhere... So, today... with such great weather, I finally borrowed the neighbour's industrial vacuum cleaner, and got to work hoovering up as much of the mess as possible. I had already had a go at shoveling and bagging most of it when it was drizzling (I figured the wetness that made it all stick together made it easier to get big lumps of).

I had no idea that there was quite so much left... lots of little concrete particles all in the soil and on the pavement. Luckily the vacuum made short work of it... however, it is a bit of a time consuming process.

Even had to do some of the shed roof as well... which was much much worse! I'm not keen to know what our gutters look like... hopefully it is much less, as the chimney was the only thing that should have spewing out dust and debris up there!

Anyway, half the house is done... the back garden. Taking a quick break... and then I move to the front garden!
